Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences

No Photoshop, AI or Jim Henson muppeteering involved, this is what my brother's dog looks like in real life. Isn't she DEADLY 😍

Weather's so good in Dublin, me and my writing group are gonna meet by the canal instead of online. Blare some audiobooks from our boombox 🌞

Looked at the 1926 census with my Dad last night, trying to find his dad. My dad didn’t know: his father’s birth year, the town he grew up in, or how to spell his first name. To be clear: his dad raised him, he didn’t disappear or anything. Apparently he was quite nice 🙃

There's an instinct to blame the left that these agri protests are often right wing or led by people who are right wing cause "the left" didn't engage but that ignores that many of these people have their own conservative to right wing ideologies.

we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)
