If the "takeaway" of a film is widely misunderstood, who is to blame, the filmmakers or the audience? For instance, if Marines watch Apocalypse Now and cheer the destruction and come away thinking Kilgore and Kurtz are awesome, are they media-illiterate, or did the movie fail in some basic way?

It is very hard to square the billions he has directly taken from the government with the billions he has blocked from starving people.

Instead of talking about how much money this disreputable dork has, we should be talking about all the children this white supremacist starved to death in Africa because he didn't think dark-skinned people deserved money from the US government—even though he's taken billions.

Thanks, Spotify, for the option to hide a song for 30 days. I've hated the song in question since 1993, I don't think I'm going to change my mind this June. I want the option to erase this song from all of existence and never hear of it again.

The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.

A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief. The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."
