Nobody wants a future where the majority of the internet and 'creative content' is AI slop. That's the future unless we collectively pull the brake on generative AI. This isn't a runaway train. The narrative of inevitability is propagated by Big Tech to try and profit off pushing AI at us.

So, a little shitposting about the "I fucking TOLD you so" window. For avoidance of confusion. This climate crisis a) is not funny b) was actually avoidable, but ppl refused to listen to scientists, activists etc. c) is now baked in. This year will be one of the coolest for the rest of your life.

The "I fucking TOLD you so" window.

First too early (cartoon woman saying 'boring')
Second a cancelled climate resilience event
Too cool - Simpsons characters with pitchforks.

Genuinely, this concern about AI is one of the reasons why I think having friction in video games is good and why it's increasingly important to have games that simply exist instead of catering to our expectations. Reposting this message from Kojima about "pre-digested" art:

And he said, "If everyone likes it, it means it's mainstream. It means it's conventional. It means it's already pre-digested for people to like it. And I don't want that. I want people to end up liking things they didn't like when they first encountered it, because that's where you really end up loving something."

“The Al is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you”

AI identified her as the suspect in a crime spree in states she had never been to. she was in jail for six months before she even got to speak with an officer and they instantly were shown they had no case. she lost everything—her house, dog, car, and was left stranded in north dakota.

One of the question I had after reading this article was, "how much DID this lady look like the photo that the AI thought she was her?" This article doesn't provide the photo, but the WEBP coverage did. www.the-independent.com/news/world/a...

Your options for placeholders: - Make them yourself (difficult, takes time) - Slop (monthly sub, kills the planet, enriches oligarchs, bad assets, everyone hates you and they're right) - Incredibly made game assets by @kenney.nl ($19.95, one-time, supports give-aways to those who can't afford it)

What do you think the largest bundle of game assets in the world costs? $30 million? $500,000? 7 kidneys? $30,000,000 again? How about $19.95! 🤑 kenney.itch.io/kenney-game-...
