Ha there just seems to be a steady stream of articles with genAI "thought leaders" saying "if people don't pay for our product then we will not have money to produce the product" as if this is some profound statement.

Picked up the latest @fusionfragment.bsky.social issue & the opening story by @estrubbe.bsky.social, "Birdguts", is a stunner. 🤌🏻 Always love when short fiction mags introduce me to authors whose writing scratches my brain in just the right way. I'll be devouring the rest of the issue this weekend.
As someone who is very deeply into preservation and archival work of media, this ain't it. It is one thing to have back-ups of media that is no longer easily purchased or long out of print but these are recently published, actively sold works that are directly tied to the writers and artists' income
