It may work with other men but as soon as I hear a man say his victim is "crazy," or has bipolar, histrionic, or borderline personality disorder, I know he did it & he's a seasoned violent misogynist. That's not just a confession of guilt but that he has other victims.
Might be time to remind men that preserving the boys' club won't keep you protected forever. Whether it's criminal, like Musk outing Trump as a pedophile in Epstein's files when angry at him (then being fine with it again), or "embarrassing," like what Miller keeps threatening...

He uses her cooperation & fawn responses as evidence of his innocence then complains that his wife sought healthcare for his abused daughter, violating their parenting plan. This man would absolutely cry "parental alienation" if she hadn't fawned & soothed to maintain cooperation.

I want to point out that misogyny is the most socially accepted form of signalling corruption. Bro's don't come up to a bar and say "hey, are you on the take, like me?" They make a crude joke about vaginas. This is the signalling mechanism.

All that came on the heels of Cosby, Weinstein & Pelicot, plus the analyses showing mass shooters get their start abusing women & of course President Rapist. Yet my sense is that most ppl process this as "there sure are a lot of bad apples," rather than as "violent misogyny is organized terrorism."
This is another way we live in rape culture; we live in a culture where we have to hear about monstrosity all the time. Sometimes I look at those top stories lists and wonder if I'm the only one who notices that two or three or four of the ten are about violence against women.
It's demoralizing living in a nonstop Abuse-a-thon: we've had to learn the sordid details of so many men's abhorrent behavior; I mean this summer has been Graham Platner, Andrew Tate, Jared Leto, Max Miller, plus the horrific L.A. rape-murder of the child by the rapper, to name a few lowlights.
They were careless people … they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.
Let's be clear: it is a good thing that Platner was held responsible. As annoying as it is that Republicans allow rapists and wife beaters to run for office, we cannot sacrifice women's dignity to achieve partisan "fairness" on this front. Women matter more than partisan "fairness."

It’s not “I didn’t do this.” It’s “I get to do this.”
“If this was true, I would be in jail,” is not meant to convince you that this man did not commit gender violence. It is meant to remind you that we have collectively decided that gender violence will be de facto invisible to the law.
“If this was true, I would be in jail” is not a real profession of innocence; it is a brag about how strenuously the state protects the male right of private sphere violence against women and children.

And how rarely those things happen to abusers, esp. high-status white male abusers.
This is called appeasement and it is one of several strategies domestic violence victims use to keep themselves safe.

When less than 2% of domestic abusers go to jail (rapists even less), it is clearly a systemic reluctance to hold violent men accountable. And men know this & point to the results of this system working in their favor to discredit their victims to protect their violence.
Imagine if we stopped treating men's violence as individual acts & started recognizing the pattern of behavior that supports accusations women make against them. Imagine if we hated men who lie about their victims half as much we hate women who tell the truth about violent men.
Notice how Miller has sued not one but two women accusing them of defamation but this isn't being seized as a pattern of false accusations that should result in life in prison, as rape apologists champion for victims they accuse of lying? www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
There's a lot of effort to separate men from the patriarchy they created & benefit from, as if they're merely disinterested passengers, but one of the most common ways men affirm their investment in patriarchy is citing the results of patriarchy to justify patriarchy.

Whether it be FIFA or Superbowl or any other sports dominated by male fans, the stats are always the same. But we are told we are the emotional ones.

I'll also once again point out you don't have to like a female victim. I dislike some of the women I publicly support but I'll continue to support victims because sexual abuse is never an acceptable tool for "punishing" unlikable women. And there's no such thing as a perfect victim.
Megan Thee Stallion, Blake Lively, Meghan Markle, Angelina Jolie - just some of the women who have since been vilified, declared The Real Abuser, & requiring women to pledge their condemnation to prove they're objective, credible, & not hysterical feminists.
