i’m just ken@shepardcdr.bsky.social · 2w agolol so Restart, after laying off its entire editorial team, is now saying that it's going to be covering GTA6 and then trying to relaunch as a new project, claiming it will be reaching out to laid off staff about coming back, which it has, crucially, not said a word about to any of them.
This is not uncommon for launch in the US. Day 1 buyers are price insensitive and FOMO sensitive. And it's not just the biggest games. Any game with a dedicated fanbase (RPG, Sport, whatever) will generally have a high day 1 premium edition share. Post-launch splits change considerably.
