I hope all the middle-aged women whose lives have been vastly improved by an ADHD diagnosis understand that we’re on the list after trans and autistic people. RFK Jr thinks we should be sent to camps instead of taking a daily medication to bring our dopamine pathways up to a normal level.

A huge increase in those claiming the condition as well as receiving Pip to cope with it risks creating a lost generation

Rahm left the White House staff with just enough time to swoop in and run for mayor in Chicago. Once he won, he immediately attacked and overturned a prior-settled collective bargaining agreement between the city and Chicago Public Schools' teachers. He is no friend of labor nor education.

“Talking to Rahm, it’s like middle-age married sex,” said John Anzalone, a Democratic pollster who has known him for decades. “It’s focused. You know what you’re going for. And it’s short.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/26/u...

This shit is terrible and getting worse. Japan just upped their fees by a huge margin. Including permant residency going up 20x overnight. Literally. October 1st. Chiba retaliated going up 7x for Japanese citizens. There are no winners in this game of chicken. Only loaers.

Everyone should read this article. I'd rather not think about how much money we've already spent for my wife's spouse visa, her visa renewal, my citizenship application and how much more we'll spend for her ILR and citizenship.

Talk about a busy week! Even MORE Starbucks workers organized and won unions this week! 🎉 Working people are fed up with corporations that can afford to do better, but won't. It's no wonder our union continues to grow! CONGRATS to partners in ✊SAN DIEGO, CA ✊QUEENS, NY

Labor Day may be over, but that doesn't mean that the wins for working people have to stop! Congratulations to Starbucks workers who just won their union elections! 💪CONWAY, AR 💪RENO, NV 💪SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA

When reactionaries advance some bullshit, the FIRST thing to do is identify the framing and reject it They're selling this as "trans rights vs. women's sports" when they hate both those things and want to ruin them both Accept the frame and you've lost Reject the frame and call bullshit

Bugs, Yaoist@bugsmaytrix.bsky.social · 3w ago

"fairness in women's sports" is literally just "ethics in games journalism" like this is the same thing this is part of the same playbook dawg

Yes indeed. The islamophobia was off the charts and those of us who thought "oh, jeeze, we thought this was world war three for a couple minutes, but it's 'only' a terrorist attack just a bigger one, but we've seen this before" were immediately made to feel like we were bad people.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that the narrative around 911 is being written by people who were either children or not born at the time of 9/11. We were not holding hands and singing Kumbaya in the streets. In fact, things got pretty ugly and anyone who didn’t toe the line was called a traitor.

Not a counter point, but a kind of point addition: you can't have a war on terrorism either. Because terrorism is an idea inasmuch as it is a collection of actual acts once could place under it. As long as someone has some means to frighten others for political purposes, terrorism will always exist.

Monthly Halloween 🎃@abcbtommi.bsky.social · 3w ago

You will have ivy league educated people say "the war on terror" to this day like they're stupid because that's how fucking brainwashed people got. The word is terrorism and it should return to being terrorism.

Sir, I spent 7th grade through graduate school in Texas. Have you considered that maybe ALL language is inherently performative? The people around me used it, so I did too. Now it is simply part of my natural speech patterns.

Minor point but I really hate this performative “y’all” people do to try and appear more folksy. I don’t type in a Yorkshire accent and I did people would rightly tell me to shut up.

A Filipina care worker in Fukuoka told her supervisory body that she was pregnant and wanted to come back after giving birth. The director asked if she'd considered an abortion. She recorded it. On August 4 a court ruled the blatantly illegal conversation violated her rights.

Chiya Fujino (1962- ) is the only openly transgender writer to ever win the Akutagawa Prize; she won in 1999 for Summer Promise (untranslated). Fujino's writings reflect how difficult life can be for people who don’t follow the standard conventions of Japanese society. #witmonth
