How easy is it to call congress if you are #Deaf? I love following @metrauxjulia.bsky.social We need to stick together and inform each other.

Calling Congress isn't always easy, people like @novicsara.bsky.social, who is deaf, who use relay services get hung up on. For @motherjones.com, I looked into limits with urges to call Congress, and one cool solution: @autisticadvocacy.org's proxy calling system. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

The possibility of abduction by a sovereign and imprisonment abroad is one criterion that separates democracies from dictatorships. The Declaration of Independence called the British king tyrannical for transporting Americans, “beyond Seas to be tried for pretended Offenses.”

This is one of my daily "go into disassociation" reads about how callous and harmful people can be when they open their mouths. #RFKjr needs to watch the documentary #PatriceTheMovie on #Hulu or #Disney+. There you will meet Elizabeth, whose value is worth a million in friendship and educating us.

The full quote from RFK, Jr. is truly disgusting and this is 100% him calling for institutionalization of autistic people. This is horrifying.

If I may offer some advice: Let go of preconceived notions of what “rising up” should look like. Don’t overly focus on a big march in DC. Recognize that we’re already seeing significant pushback, it’s just not conforming to what we imagined it would look like. Be open to new ways of doing things.

This is what our country is doing to people. It’s worse than any drama I’ve seen. We used to welcome the tired, the sick, those yearning for freedom. I didn’t vote for the creep that separated children from their parents. This is how We’ll treat citizens who don’t support the president.

powerful detailed account of ICE captivity "To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me...Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there" www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific. If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

Fascists want us divided, uninformed and sick. A sick, apathetic population won’t put up much of a fight. Protect your health. Read local independent journalists. Support libraries, community fridges & food banks. Give to mutual aid. Wear a mask. Strong inclusive communities will save lives

I’m hoping that when people watch this film that they get energized to make sure that we don’t lose these hard one rights and accessibility to lives that everyone else takes for granted. I co-directed Crip Camp with @nicolenewnham.bsky.social

History isn’t just what was—it’s what we do with it. We shape #PublicPolicy by remembering & showing up. #Disability Rights didn't stop w/the ADA. Nor should we. Proud to be part of #ChangeNotCharity, a powerful follow-up to #CripCamp by @jimlebrecht.bsky.social airing 3/25 on #AmericanExperiencePBS

Donald Trump has disgraced the United States of America in countless ways since he first entered political life ten years ago. But he had never disgraced the nation as badly as he did today. He has brought shame on this country to an extent I had never thought possible. And he has only just begun.

Every artist I know is really struggling right now. Financially, emotionally, their confidence, in general. If you like an artist's work, support them any way you can. Buying their stuff or subscribing to their Patreon is great, but words of encouragement are also incredibly helpful.

Do you forget to use alt-text when you post images? I'm forgetful, too. Fortunately, you can turn on reminders! Settings -> Accesibility -> Require alt text. Done! Easy accessibility.
