Fantasy Author. Games Programmer. Debut novel ANY MORE QUESTIONS FOR THE CORPSE? out with Crooked Lane Books, Aug 25th! www.jjunthank.com

Hardbacks arrived the other day! I’m so happy with how they’ve turned out! I can’t believe two years ago I was writing this book with no idea what the hell I was doing! Strange how it all works out!

A photo of a hardback book held up in front of a living room. The book is ‘Any more questions for the corpse?’, the cover is a skeleton sat on a sofa reading a book!

Excellent piece, reminding us that texts are irrelevant if they are not expressions of the creative thoughts of living and breathing authors, written for living and breathing readers. Texts written by LLMs are simulations, lacking the essence of embodied experience.

I'm excited to share my piece in Los Angeles Review of Books @lareviewofbooks.bsky.social, which examines OpenAI's claims about ChatGPT's creative writing skills, Big Tech's weaponisation of grief and nostalgia, and the collapse of the academic humanities. lareviewofbooks.org/article/lite...

Writing a first draft is hard, but anyone who thinks there's a shortcut available in slop doesn't know how creating works. Doing the hard part is where the wild and unique things happen. Where the creation of an immersive experience for the reader happens. Where the soul happens. 16/17

You wanna know how dumb chatgpt is? I asked it a question about Olivia Rodrigo's 3rd album and it told me she's only released 2 albums. Her third album not only released but was #1, the singles all charting. Chatgpt can't even google shit. If you trust it's info for *anything* you are insane.

Chotiner: Tell me what you found interesting about these vampires. Documentarian: Well, it's just -- the group dynamics, I guess. Chotiner: I can see that. I can see finding Nandor, Laszlo and Nadia entertaining. Documentarian: Exactly. Chotiner: So. How many people did you watch them murder?

Throughout a career in publishing, the commonest problem I’ve found in authors trying to break into the business is their fear of taking themselves seriously. If that’s you, try this. (Little thread follows.) 1. Remove “aspiring” or “would-be writer” from your bio. Replace it with “writer.”

Could you be sued for using AI? I wrote a little piece over on the blog about the legality of what AI produces, and the potential future that could be in store for us if the court decides against AI's ability to create copyrighted work! jjunthank.com/2026/01/02/c...

Could you be sued for using AI?

Here’s a scenario: You have ‘some’ writing to do, it doesn’t matter what it is, for now let’s call it a short story. You decide you don’t have the time, or can’t quite express yourself with your ow…

Going over First Pass pages today looking for last minute typos, thought I'd read the whole book backwards (chapter-by-chapter, not word-by-word, that would be impossible)! It's completely broken my usual flow (I must of read the book like a 100 times) so it seems to be working! #amwriting #booksky

Many years ago (when we were dead broke) Rachel said she wanted a christmas wreath for our door, so I took a branch that had fallen off our plastic tree and some odd decorations, and made this! For some reason it's still her favourite! She insists it's the first decoration up each year!

Been a chill two weeks, but I think it's back to work today, got some copyedits to go through! My doctors and surgeon are all happy with how it's all gone, so everything is best case scenario! The scars are pretty gnarly though, won't be posting them here until they've cleared up! #writingcommunity
