The Professional Managerial Class is the revolutionary class and the DSA is their conduit. Which is why the left nimby stuff was so counterproductive. Why are you trying to impoverish your own political base, moron?

DSA-aligned Democrats are now the most pro-free-trade voting bloc in the United States, in an incredible turn of events www.theargumentmag.com/p/who-suppor...

A graph showing whether voters support or oppose free trade by party identification, showing 54% of "Dems favorable to DSA" strongly support free trade agreements

Still can’t over the fact that the president of the United States just told an entire state to pound sand after getting cyberattacked by a foreign adversary because they didn’t vote for him and it was treated like a Tuesday lol

Things I and friends have done to calm an angry abusive man from further escalating and killing us or our children: -Smiled -Kept normal schedules in order not to trigger a fight -Appeased with kind acts (cooking, cleaning, favors) -Forced friendly tones and words

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

My mom asked us to send my dad videos for his birthday. So I did a whole day-with-me thing and made my first J-cut ever. I also learned why nobody uses iMovie when they know what a J-cut is.

Solved a problem by turning off all of my data routing devices and turning them back on again. I'm feeling fine about this and not like there's a gremlin in my stack that's gonna get me

every time i've run into my new neighbor for the last few weeks has been as i'm on my bike. he asked me a few questions and i was maybe a little too aggressive in offering him a test ride with his kids, but then he went out and bought two (!) ebikes this week

Thinking about that take home coding interview I did many years ago that took me too long to do but I also reversed the test jar file and patched it because it had a race condition that was messing up my code

The question of “Why are enviros so temperamentally eager to say no to things but so unable to say yes to things” is easier to understand when you realize that they built themselves completely around an advocacy focused on hyperlocalized impacts on ecosystems

this shit was always annoying even in cases where it was maybe technically correct, but now with Trump doing lots of unprecedented bad shit the ‘heh, you rube, you fool, politicians have always been corrupt’ gimmick is both wrong on the merits and much more pernicious.

There’s a kind of guy on social media who acts like you’re a moron for believing in gradations. You say we’re teetering on fascism, they go “umm we were founded on genocide” You say Musk is having a racist breakdown they go “umm he was always racist” Truthers for the concept of things getting worse.

Sometimes I think it’s too reductive to say that a car is a uniquely deranging object to own, but then I see people who claim left politics compare the people trying to turn a carpark into a children’s home to Netanyahu and I think “no, the car has made you crazy”

@kayfourbee.bsky.social Local authority decision would exacerbate local reource shortage. But instead of seeing a better decision which doesn't create a resources crisis, your preferred solution is to tell people to eff off. That sounds liks the Netanyahu approach to urban planning […]

Bass promoting fare-free LA metro is a really funny example of a politician attempting to pander but instead landing on a proposal that, within the community of people who care a lot about the issue, is a specific shibboleth for not knowing what you're talking about: bsky.app/profile/mayo...

Mayor Karen Bass@mayor.lacity.gov · 2w ago

As Chair, I’ll build a long-term financial plan to make Metro fare-free. I’ve fought for a world-class transit system my entire career because public transit should create opportunity for everyone.

I'm actually astonished at how clean this graph looks as a diagnostic for our housing ills. Note how close it is to 1 at the start. Houses per single adult or married couple.

Houses per (population over 25 - married couples)

Subtracting married couples prevents them from being counted twice, since a married couple doesn't need 2 homes, but 2 single people (ideally) do.

A theme here is that if a person inside city government intervenes on behalf of a restaurant losing parking spots or a random driver getting a parking ticket, that's seen as constituent services. If another government insider works on behalf of keeping people alive, that's seen as advocacy.

A public records request reveals how @mayorwu.boston.gov's election-year "review" of transportation projects created a duplicate layer of authority inside City Hall that fomented confusion and stalled urgent safety initiatives: mass.streetsblog.org/2026/07/22/f...
