I'm going to start this thread on the presidential count in Brazil—so people who are interesting can follow along. With 3% of vote counted, Lula up 51.3 to 48.7 (that's a lead of 103K). Pattern in 2022 & in R1 was Lula down big at 1st, then closing gap, but that's shaken up by today's 2-hour delay.

The Brazil election story today is already wild. Alleged efforts by some local mayors to stymie public transportation to suppress votes. Extended voting hours. Now vote is coming in, Bolsonaro with a slim lead, and yet the Polymarket has totally flipped in the last few hours towards Lula:

As a cis woman, my No. 1 criteria for deciding whether to vote for a candidate is “Do: they explicitly support trans people?” I have yet to find anyone who supports trans rights who doesn’t also support: - people from other minority/ marginalised communities - the environment - financial equality

I hope Josh Turek and Marcy Kaptur lose. If they lose close winnable races, we will point to the votes left on the floor from trans people and their allies. You cannot throw us under the bus and expect our votes. We're not voting for candidates promising to ban our healthcare.

Hi friends. Today is my birthday. It's a big one. This year has been so hard, and it's not over. I am so grateful to everyone who has donated/shared my link. I am still fighting my way out of this very bad situation. Thank you for considering helping me & my daughters.

In a democracy, having many good candidates should be a blessing. Under the top-two “jungle primary” system of Question 3, having many good candidates becomes a curse. Here’s how. This isn’t voter choice. It’s voter suppression. Vote NO on 3.

Why vote no on Q3?

Graphic shows how under a top-two “jungle primary,” the majority of voters could prefer candidates of one party, but that party gets shut out of the general

Ramaswamy has produced an attack ad weaponizing the rape of his opponent, Amy Acton, when she was 12 years old. It features Acton’s mother, who abandoned Acton after she was raped by her step-father, fleeing the state with her husband. Here is the corporate money helping fund that ad.
