Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

You might be worried about the future prospects Ruby, and, you want to be sure that learning Ruby is worth the effort. I’ve compiled a list of reasons to learn Ruby from people using it every day so you can pick the one that resonates with you: https://www.rubyforum.org/t/compelling-reasons-to-le
actually sad to read this all out. Ruby Central was foundational in my early career. I learned so much from conference videos and so forth early in. The relationships I built in the hallways of RailsConf and RubyConf stand through my career today. But Ruby Central is not the same as it once was.
I wrote an update on the dispute with Ruby Central over Bundler and RubyGems. I'm sad it's reached this point, especially since Ruby Central's conferences are a big part of what convinced me to join the Ruby community back in the day. andre.arko.net/2026/07/30/rub…

Ruby Central's Destructive Legacy
At conferences and meetups, and in conversations online, many Ruby developers have asked me about Ruby Central and my disagreement with them. This post is my attempt to answer the questions I’ve been getting over and over, covering: 1) what is Ruby Central doing now? 2) has the dispute over Bundler…

drunk driving may kill a lot of people, but it also helps a lot of people get to work on time, so, you have to admit it's useful
Seeing the storyboards for "The Man Who Killed Batman" when I was 17 was one of the canon events that led me to change careers to animation
"The Man Who Killed Batman" is a BTAS masterpiece. Villains like the Joker and Rupert Thorne struggle to come to terms with Batman's apparent death at the hands of a no-name hoodlum. It's a well-produced episode and the Joker's angry, vain eulogy for Batman is an all-time moment for the character.
I can't help but get the feeling that a lot of companies are optimizing their job application process to encourage AI-generated applications and discourage human input. Like, when you ask for exact date ranges for every job I've worked, that is easy for an LLM and difficult for me.
youll never guess why the ghost trick fandom's only meme is "play ghost trick"

"they should make a gui so it's easy for normal people" they did that thirty years ago motherfucker but you went looking for a nerd to give you advice and now you're mad that the advice you got is nerd advice. very sorry that you had to type chmod once and linux is bad now
i am once again begging windows users to understand that linux nerds give you instructions in the form of terminal commands because "paste this in" is a million times faster than trying to lead you through the gui one button at a time, not because the gui doesn't exist
times is tough and i could use the help. but also y'all, i super love teaching i think you'd have a lotta fun

honestly pretty solid response when someone asks you if they can show or ask you something
By far the funniest moment in Homer’s Odyssey is when Circe says, “Shall we have sex?” and Odysseus says, “You just turned all my men into pigs. You have the GALL to think I would sleep with you? Of course I will. Absolutely. But don’t do any weird spells”
We finally have an answer to "Does Nokia's internal holy grail of HQ + unused ringtones still exist?". Unfortunately, Microsoft deleted them when transferring Nokia data to HMD Global upon the sale in 2016. I am truly disheartened by the devaluation of historical content.
twitch has muted three minutes of me talking over very quiet pokémon audio because it identified it as infringing on the copyright of Unknown Artist - Unknown Title
This guys problem is he hasn’t moved on to a new fake thing for his business where he says “AI isn’t really that important to OpenAI, now it makes robot wives, and I predict we will sell 8 robot wives per person by 2033”

Begging people to scroll the catalogues of notorious indie publishers like Devolver or Annapurna, and tell me how many studios there have released more than a single game
"The indie game scene isn't suffering the bloodbath of AAA gami-" You have to understand almost every successful indie studio was bought out by Microsoft or Tencent and the people that remain are either wildly successful and secure or it's Willow, who's coding a passion project at 2 a.m. after work

"actually its fine if agentic code is unmaintainable for humans because the agents will just maintain it" is just the next cope in a long series of copes from LLM true believers who said they were going to revolutionize customer support, summaries, art, writing and video, all of which they failed at
