I did this in a recent story! "I Never Saw My Father" in the Threads of Obsession anthology is a riff on HG Wells's Invisible Man, but it takes place across an ocean and 60 or so years later than the original. #HorrorWritersChat

#HorrorWritersChat off the top of my head, but it would be fun to see Chucky in a puritanical US setting. Probably be made of cloth and still have the possessed by a serial killer angle, but I think adding a layer of the time period’s “stop the lies, you’re demonic, child!” would be interesting.

I've been wanting to write a Frankenstein story set in 1930's Los Angeles, where the "monster" is a private detective. I think a pulp mysterty with Franklin Stein, PI, investigating a weird, old-Hollywood murder case with other horror elements would be a hoot. #HorrorWritersChat

Ah, how we actually "write what we know." I've actually based stories I've written on my life experiences. "Is Anyone There" was based on a ghost hunting session I had a few years ago. And "Natural Predators" was partially inspired by an actual epidemic at summer camp one year. #HorrorWritersChat

I literally became a horror creator to try, and succeed, at healing one of my worst traumas - life-long sleep paralysis nightmares. Outside of that, I have met people who were very shitty in the past, and have changed. It's one of my favourite themes to explore in horror. #HorrorWritersChat
