Latinxs really be yelling for Latinxs to get flowers, then get pissed when Latinxs who don't speak Spanish get flowers. If the call is for Spanish-speakers to get flowers, then say that.

Quite frankly after almost 3 decades on this earth are we even remotely convinced that the Dems' opposition is Republicans and not anyone attempting to build a world not based on violence and extraction? Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
Evergreen politics tip: Run against your opposition, not the people your opposition scapegoats and reviles. And since this seems unclear: Dems' opposition is Republicans.
j/k, I'm not a bureaucratic genius. It's simply that strict bureaucracies regularly fail to account for every human situation that will be presented to it. This is often on purpose. Lately it's also a failure on the part of structures to keep up with real changes in human needs.
Pet Peeve: Asking a bureaucracy a question, hearing "huh, good question", then spending hours on hold because, apparently, I have thought this process through more thoroughly than the system itself did. 🫠
His lease of the stadium required him to agree to pay for any repairs or upgrades himself. Where are the landlords' rights advocates now?
Portland’s WNBA team is speaking out in favor of upgrades to the Moda Center, Lightning strikes sparked at least 35 new fires across Oregon this week, and the World Naked Bike Ride is back this weekend.

Also caught up in this case: Elizabeth Soto got 50 years for "providing material support" to terrorists... by printing zines (which included feminist lit, anti-AI rants, and poetry about losing a sibling to cancer) and being in a leftist book club. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...
Okay I'm shutting down comments on this post because far too many people are carelessly saying things none of us would want read aloud in court, especially for a post about life-ruining collective punishment for all involved in online conversations.
If you want to be a rebel zine-reader yourself, here are some zines about this case

It's hard to even know what to say or do when things get this bad, but here's one of Daniel's oh-so-scary drawings.
Zines are now a federal crime in the United States. They are setting precedent to go after anyone they want for writing or reading anything they don't like.
Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada wasn’t even at the protest — his wife was — but prosecutors are pressuring him into giving up his permanent resident status because he allegedly moved a box of zines the day after. Now that he’s going to trial, he’s looking at decades behind bars and deportation.
A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car. Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson had critiques and a sharp tongue in a Tuesday newsletter that took jabs at city councilors as well as a data analyst who’s become one of the most influential sources of information about the city’s upcoming Moda Center lease contract. What the mayor didn’t have? Accuracy.

Why is eating a flaky croissant so embarrassing like oh sorry I’m getting my buttery flakes everywhere
Older lady peeped the rainbow flag on my bike, asked in a thick Russian accent “It’s your Pride?” She told me her youngest grandchild is “not she berry or he berry but no berry.” I said “Nonbinary?” She got so excited. Yes! Yes! And “Is a secret, but they are my“ *looks around, whispers* “favorite.”
90% of modern media criticism just sounds like this
(while being killed) stay alert everyone this is just a trial balloon for them killing someone more important
Current Pregnant Thought: I don’t care whether she’ll be “smart enough” or “pretty enough”. I care whether she’ll be kind enough to herself and others; wise enough to discern what’s fair; and brave enough to always try.
"Nobody finds Jesus harder, faster and more publicly than someone who is the exact opposite of what a Christian should actually be." It's. Not often I feel the need to applaud a YouTube comment, but whew. Whew. W H E W
Just feeling incredibly grateful today. This story has been a long time coming and it's so surreal to finally see it out in the world. 🌈🥹❤️
Our friend Maria also helped flat and shadow a ton of pages, she was a total lifesaver! My sister Julie offered so much wisdom as we developed and scripted the story, her advice was invaluable. And our editors Sheila, Jenny, and art directors Kate and Anabeth really helped this book take shape!
The lettering was done by @joamettegil.bsky.social (It looks SO GOOD!) @blue-ten.bsky.social helped flat and color many of the pages, and they are incredible. (if you have the book check out pages 138-139, 213 and 220 especially!) @kevinrages.bsky.social inked a ton of hard pages in the junkyard!
Thank you everyone who tagged us on Haven release day! 🥹💖 You all made the day feel truly special, we're so floored by the response to the story. We wanted to take some time to celebrate everyone who worked on the book, we couldn't have done it without them. They made this book shine!🌟
Today is HAVEN and the Fallen Giants release day!! 🌟✨💙🩵 The book turned out SO beautiful! bit.ly/havengiant
It's not just Gen Z and these people fucking well know that, but kids are much easier to pick on and call dumb, aren't they, The Economist? Talking to a 37-year-old Millennial angry they'll never be able to afford a house or a Gen-Xer spending a lifetime locked out of influence would be 😢uncomfy.😢
