Common Sense is a Super Power 🤦🏻‍♀️ Immunocompromised 😷 #KeepMasksinHealthcare ✨️New Brunswick

A password alone is not enough to protect our digital accounts. So why rely on just one tool to protect our health? Vaccines are an important layer of protection, but they work best alongside high-quality masks, testing, staying home when sick, cleaner indoor air and reduced overcrowding. (...)

The “whn.global” logo appears at top left, and at top right: “World Health Network — Science for a safer, healthier world.” Large bold text, with selected words in a pink-to-yellow gradient, reads: “We protect our digital accounts with multiple security steps. Protecting our health should work the same way.” A dark button at the bottom reads: “LAYER YOUR PROTECTION.”Vertical World Health Network graphic on a white background. If we care about disability justice, one of the lowest-hanging fruits is masks in healthcare. It remains unacceptable that vulnerable patients must ask, sometimes beg, healthcare workers to mask, while also explaining to them why respirator masks are better

Stunning photo, taken soon after the 1954 Salk polio vaccine trial that involved 1.8 million children! We all need reminders on how the world looked like before widespread vaccination and how much people welcomed the miracles that we call vaccines today

I mask in public still because no one has given me any convincing scientific evidence that getting repeat COVID infections is safe or sustainable for health, especially brain health 🧠

Physician here (words of wisdom from Canada): Get your MMR vaccines. Safe and effective. The US has seen more cases of measles in the last 2 years than the total between 2000-2024. That is what happens when a country is led by anti-vaccine, anti-science scoundrels and spreaders of disinformation.

The elephant in the room is that an uninformed public has been getting infected + reinfected with covid for the last 7 years and you just cannot seriously talk about what’s happening to our healthcare system without acknowledging that

Watching people openly acknowledge the urgency of our climate situation now that the sky is orange has me wondering what the inflection point for Covid is going to be. And I’m worried it’s going to take realizing what we’re doing to a generation of kids. 💔

American elected officials are admonishing Canada for the wildfires. When California was on fire, Canada sent planes to help out. A Canadian firefighter just died helping fight a blaze in the US. Canada pitches in, it doesn’t lay blame or make threats. Perhaps America should return the favour.

"Despite the emergency phase being declared over, the Covid-19 pandemic continues. Long Covid is still making people sick, long after infection, damaging immune systems and triggering various illnesses.”

Ahhhh, the “summer flu” 🙄. I hope one day athletes hold their teams and clubs responsible for such poor guidance over the years, and that elite players learn, before it’s irreparable, that they’re pretty much like the rest of us when faced with infectious disease. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Several players have flu-like symptoms ahead of their biggest World Cup match ever. While teams often obscure the truth around sickness due to gamesmanship, it's surprising that more high performance athletes don't take simple precautions like wearing a mask.

My elderly, critically ill aunt got Covid (and pneumonia) while she was in the hospital back in mid April. How many posts have I seen where someone had Covid, then 2-3 months later, bam. Gone. So I made a mental note and prepared myself. I’m going to her wake on Saturday. :(
