Idk why a lot of Asian supernatural fantasy involves death and the afterlife, but they just do. And they’re not always horror. This one was a fun adventure. I liked our lead female chara and it has a cast of delightful eccentric supporting characters. A few flaws, but didn’t stop me enjoying it.
I have so much LOVE for this. Queer female lead, supernatural elements of Malaysia (and Singapore). Yet what I loved most was the dialogue cos of how familiar it felt (to me). This was a Ride; Ah Ma was wonderful, and the story hit just right. Brilliant stuff. Would read again.
Goodreads really took down all the comments pointing out a book is AI slop because the thief went crying to them about their sloppery being pointed out? After the author of the original book that was stolen talked about it. What absolutely useless cowards.

When Scraplet started P1 last year (4-5yos) much of the homework they were given involved using a screen to do online puzzles + a couple of actual writing letters exercises. End of the last term they sent out a homework survey and I duly informed them that I would be continuing to send homework ➡️
@ravens-rambling.bsky.social · 4d agoThis reminds me of an article I saw recently that a kindergarten teacher, at least once a year, will have at least one kid who has never written or drawn with anything physical. That kid has only ever been on an iPad for their entire short lifespan that they don't even know how to hold a pencil.

Name a non-LOTR character who could resist the One Ring. Bluey on the other hand is too easily corrupted by magic. And Muffin is just pure chaos. Rusty though. Rusty is another contender.

Right then, time for #TROPRewatch S1E8 finale! And the first time it began with me and the Llama screaming at the TV screen cos we knew that location where they filmed the Stranger and the Mystics. Cos it's the same place they filmed the Trollshaws for An Unexpected Journey, and we'd been there.
