For around 4,500 years, the Rudston Monolith has stood within an ancient ritual landscape in the Yorkshire Wolds. Beside it, the medieval church of All Saints is a mere pup - a later chapter in a place held sacred for millennia.
This “skidding goat” vase was likely made in Iran c.3500 BCE. Similar jars were made at settlements in mountain valleys that connected Mesopotamia in the west to Iran.
