Why is Toronto providing policing so that Ford can destroy city property?

Desperately want to believe that we have the power to leave this planet and humanity in better shape for future generations. How do we turn off the greed and hate genes? No DMs 🇨🇦🏴🏴🌈
Ford is going to burn $48,000,000 for just the 1 kilometre section of Bloor with paid duty cops and overtime.
Just a big “hell yeah!” out to the #BikeTooter folks in Toronto who are squaring up against riot police over a bike lane removal. That’s just some badass behavior. Well done. Also. The “riot” here is “police-incited” as it usually is.
Uh oh! Things are getting serious with the arrival of the riot squad. Hoping no arrests get made. #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero
Who @markcarney383.bsky.social @maritstilesndp.bsky.social @ontarioliberal.bsky.social is providing any support or oversight to a delusional Ontario Premier who works 50 days a year, cant take care of Ontario, yet plays Toronto Mayor. Who ? If he can wage war in Toronto, who is supporting Ontario?
Closing supervised consumption sites did not save lives. In this Toronto Sun op-ed, RNAO CEO Dr. Doris Grinspun says #HarmReduction remains a critical part of responding to the #ToxicDrugCrisis & is complementary to treatment.
UK privatised water, assets stripped, companies pouring raw sewage into sea and rivers because they can't afford to treat effluent. Why would we let Bradford and Ford do this to us? #torpoli #onpoli #bradbradford
Meanwhile in Ontario, the RCMP have failed to do anything with their investigation into the Green Belt scandal @maritstilesndp.bsky.social @ontarioliberal.bsky.social @markcarney383.bsky.social . While delusional Ontario Premier plays Toronto mayor, quite badly at that.
A fourth person has been arrested at a protest against the removal of bike lanes in Etobicoke, Toronto police say. #Topoli www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
#TORONTO #VOTES! #BradBradford platform needs to rais taxes 13.5% to pay for his plan 😳🤪 Make sure you VOTE TORONTO!!! #onpoli #cdnpoli

I remember when Pave-Al’s plant by the 401 in Mississauga lowered their flag for car salesman turned transportation minister Al Palladini when he died but left it up after Pierre Trudeau died.
Success! We chased one of the trucks off of Bloor with more "Get home safe" chants! Still got one more truck to evict. #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero
Note the sides of the machinery say Pave-Al Limited. Let's name and shame these guys as well! Also saw more trucks on the other side of Bloor. #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero
All right, folks! Some heavy machinery had been spotted on Bloor west of Islington. If you are able to, come now! #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero
I've worked with both Olivia Chow and Brad Bradford. Mayor Chow acts. Councillor Bradford is mostly talk. How can we expect someone to serve our city well when they've failed to serve their own ward?
This applies to procurement of goods and services by our governments as well. When #OttCity talks about shopping local, but then makes it impossible for local firms to bid contracts. It’s deeply hypocritical and undermines, local prosperity, skill, talent.
Canada has its own native, tropical-tasting fruit, pawpaws. It used to grow in abundance in southwestern Ontario, but until recently, the population fell. An Indigenous-led movement has been working to restore the plant. Local sellers in Toronto are feeding a wave of interest to grow and taste them.
Toronto Mayoral Candidate Brad Bradford just posted a video that just screams AI.

I've met Americans (plural) who didn't know Canada has its own money. A friend met an American who thought we didn't have roads. I met an American who thought Canada was in Montana, and some who thought you could take the subway from Toronto to Banff.
The Canadian program SCTV made its debut on television 50 years ago. It was first produced in Toronto, but after production costs grew, the show relocated to Edmonton. That's where the show eventually gained a national following. www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

Inspired by a colouring book, five-year-old Jack Bennett and his father, Lanrick Jr., spent their year touring every one of the city's libraries.

I no longer live in Toronto, but I still consider it my home. It's been painful watching Doug Ford rip it apart to appease suburban city-haters. And Brad Bradford will do much of the same. Shit, the dude wants to privatize the water! Torontonians, get out and vote. Do not let Bradford win.
It’s the billionaires, people. Policy that makes billionaires while increasing poverty rates is FUCKED UP policy! The entire purpose of government is to facilitate the existence of the governed. It is to provide order, security, prosperity and a dignified life for all citizens. Any ideology
Protests started in Spain and France but now they have spread to Italy. This is Milan, the cost of billionaires crisis has hit especially hard in Italy and many people are struggling to survive.
Isn’t it abundantly clear that we need to push BlueSky with all our might as an alternative to oligarch owned social media?
