I've been learning Godot for the past 6 months and I needed a placeholder character to test some stuff... So naturally I spent an unreasonable amount of time making way more frames and directions than I needed #pixelart #animation
I finally completed Fallen Aces Episode 2! My favorites were chapters 1, 2 and 5, with the last one I couldn't help but love the ransacked mall location. Thank you @fallenacesdev.bsky.social and @newblood.games for the Linux hotfix!
We've released a hotfix for Fallen Aces that has fixed the shader compatibility issue that was causing rendering bugs on integrated graphics and Linux / Steam Deck. The game should now be playable again and look real proper, boss! steamcommunity.com/games/141191...
A year ago yesterday I announced that VILE: Exhumed was banned from Steam and then had the craziest (and most stressful) week of my life But what stayed with me was the support and kindness from so many people. A week today is Vile's birthday... how should we celebrate?
A disappointing update about VILE: Exhumed...
This is NOT about preservation. They are only doing this to harvest pre 2020's books to use for more training data. They have chosen this method that DESTROYS the book on purpose, because it is faster and cheaper. They know time is limited before society and the bubble catches up with them.
No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.
Been trying to play Fallen Aces, but it sadly keeps crashing and forcing me to restart my PC (using Linux Mint.) This time it froze but it was trying to play audio, so I waited, but I ended up just staring at this guy's face for two minutes straight lol
Just a little reminder to everyone: Algorithms are useless. It's very hard to find cool stuff without being shown it by someone else. So if you find something cool - a band, a game, a video essay or anything else - share it and tell people about it. And thanks to anyone who does! You're cool!
One of my favorite features from Half-Life was gibbing NPCs, and I finally got around to reimplementing it to the new version #gamedev #oneirality
Notice how the team takes position outside the door. This means I now have fine control over the breaching phase of the room clearing algorithm, which means next I can add flashbangs / grenades. This is 100% procedural, 0 level markup required! #gamedev #pixelart #cyberpunk
Procedural map metadata includes rooms, chokepoints, doorways, connections between rooms, and map topology. The SWAT team uses this information to plan their attack on the level. #gamedev #pixelart #cyberpunk
Lots of deep work on AI, pathing algorithms, map metadata with the ultimate goal of having NPCs perform tactical room clearing. First step is being able to navigate to the entrance to the room in question. #gamedev
Every survival game needs an unnecessarily complicated inventory system.... #screenshotsaturday #gamedev
me, when anyone asks me to do anything
So the corgi nationals race happened ..
Make sure to clean up after yourself!!! 🧹 With all the systems work I've been doing, the welder took only a couple of hours today to get the model, animation, and logic made and working in game. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiedev
What a weird and stupid idea to change the aspect ratio of a game a few months before launch. Who would even do such a stupid thing.... Anyway, happy #ScreenShotSaturday! How does this look? #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame
Another thing I added for QOL is adding a low-visibility light which increases the more shrouded the player is. That way you can at least see your nearest surroundings. #screenshotsaturday #indiedev #godot #oneirality
While playtesting the companion AI, there were issues with changing behaviors. This week I implemented a hierarchical state machine for NPCs to separate state transitions into behaviors #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiedev #godot #oneirality

Hey Chicago! An ICE contractor is trying to buy our parking meters — and City Council decides whether that happens THIS WEEK. We've got time to stop this, but we need as many people as possible to fight back: tinyurl.com/icepark
Companion NPC demonstration A character who was originally meant to communicate with the player through a radio will now be present to help in combat in some levels. #gamedev #indiedev #godot #oneirality
