The weird religious cousin you avoid at family gatherings. @fruitlessmedia.bsky.social, He/Him

I’m going to vote for her, but I really wish she’d get some of that "securing our borders" language out of her immigration platform on her campaign page. She’d be better than any Republican psychos here in Iowa, but she’s not really a socialist or anything.

Sarah Trone Garriott, the Democratic nominee for Iowa’s Third Congressional District, is one of a number of Democratic candidates who view politics as an extension of faith.

becoming a parent has turned out to be a great excuse to learn the entire alphabet. sometimes he’ll ask me what a letter is and i’m like well shit, bubba. let’s find out together

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

It's kind of nuts how you see clips like this broadcast by the BBC (!) and if anyone had a spare 10 minutes they could probably rack up multiple pages of quotes from Israelis that justify the genocide, even calling it such. And still, if you mention this, you'll be screamed at

The conventional wisdom that you had to be ironclad in support of Israel and even genuflect to a series of absurd, exceptional demands like "right to exist as a Jewish state" and "right to [offensively] defend itself" is dead. A lot of people are just mad that it's dead. Sorry.

I think 50% chance this is sarcasm but I like how conventional wisdom is now that running a Muslim socialist is actually an electoral cheat code. 6'2 white Navy SEALs are like "it's not fair I wish I was a Muslim socialist!"

It was clearly a great idea for me to make my email address publicly available. How else would I get such incredible insights into the human psyche, and so conveniently delivered straight to my inbox?

This is probably the most fun episode of Christian Rock Summer we've done. What a ridiculous band [complimentary AND derogatory].
