To my cisgender siblings in the UK: today is segregation day. Help in every way you possibly can. Do not ignore this. Fight the transphobes in every venue, in every arena, in every situation.
Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI
*walks into room, writes "Jaws" on the whiteboard* *looks at execs* *adds "es" onto the end of Jaws so it says "Jawses"* *execs are cautiously interested* *draws a line through the last S so it reads "Jawse$"* *execs lose their minds*
let's pretend: Universal announces a screenwriting contest for Jaws 5. What's your pitch?
Given we are approaching that time of the year, my big piece from years back on the 1983 Cold War Crisis (and the role of Stanislav Petrov in it) over onto authory as a free-to-read. Over the years, the myth of what happened has been simplified. The reality was scarier. Because: Ronald Reagan.
The Day the World Didn’t End
At the height of the Cold War, with alarms screaming, one Soviet officer stopped to think. It cost him his career. It may also have saved the world. The morning of the 26th September 1983 had started ...

Shark kill's a CEO's dipshit son at the start of the film. He then puts a bounty on it. The film follows the opportunists, sycophants and hangers on as they hunt the shark, trashing local towns and damaging the economy and environment. Shark eats CEO at the end of the film and nobody gets anything.

Your email finds me three weeks out of Portsmouth. The Sighthound is light at only eighteen guns, but quick in the water, even laden as she is. The Atlantic lapping against her hull she is making steady progress westward to the Caribbean, the men restless to do their duty for King and country.
I didn't put this line in my Stonetop not-review but "GMing is a practise" is a great way to put a fundamental truth about that bit of the form.
You might read this and think it doesn't seem simple, but the difference is just experience. Read more ttrpgs, and more varied rpgs, and run your games. Time will teach you how to read a game and understand what the important parts are to you and, crucially, your players. AI robs you of this craft.

One of the best DnD campaigns I ever ran used one A4 sheet of paper for notes, the default GM screen, and a whiteboard plus some generic tokens for complex combat. It for three years and my group still say it's one of the best campaigns they've been a part of. It's really not that complicated!
The other thing that pisses me off about this is that some of the most memorable adventures I've run have been run off a blank page or a handful of random tables. Engage your fucking brain asshole.
This is also a failure of planning. You have failed to plan the time to design your adventure. Skill issue.
"I'm entitled to whatever I want whenever I want it for any reason and I don't care what satisfying these urges does to me or the world" well okay dude, seems like there's something deeper going on here, but that's just my take
It's been such a privilege to write for Rascal, to write for you, and it would be really nice if I could do it next year as well. If you can sign up, please do. I would do so much better, the work world be so much better, if the site wasn't precious.

Guys will listen to male influencer bullshit about needing to have a six pack and manipulate everyone and meanwhile women will go “you know who is the sexiest fucking guy I’ve ever seen?” and post this
We're six months from an AI CEO pitching a product that retroactively erases negative press from the internet (and onto their servers for later) called Balefire or some shit.

Fuck your bsky drafts, I know my audience; (without doxxing yourself) what was the last Google doc you edited?
Have you wanted to travel from London up to Towcester via Stony Stratford but only want to view the exact route? Well, you're in luck: we've found this map from we think the early 19th century showing just that. #MKMonday
For it's many failings there's these moments where you sit back as you sweep into a station and the whole thing makes sense. Then your inventory desyncs and you're banging your head against the servers to complete a mission that took 30 minutes.
Star Citizen free fly is this week. It's not really a game I can recommend per se; your tolerance for an incomplete game that is shallow and flat out broken will vary. That said when it all comes together it is rather special, and free is the right price to pay to see if you'll get along with it.

It looks like the weather is both an indoor and outdoor experience at GenCon? I imagine this may be bad for an event that involves a lot of cardboard and paper. Anyway, I hope folks there are doing ok despite the apparent chaos. 💜
Another photo from closer up, showing the water actively coming down from the lights into hastily places dumpsters
I’m happy to report that the unique mechanic in the GenCon multi-table Heart game - that players who are playing the same pregens are actually shards of the same reincarnated saint from slightly different realities, and if they meet they instantly glom together into one body - is going well
