The thing is that nobody actually wants a digital town square. We just wanna a little bullshit place to put our little bullshit thoughts and giggle with the friends who live in our pockets. Sure discourse happens but it's usually over some stupid shit like the concept of the digital town square.
The only Marvel project I've been interested in since before Infinity War. Mahershala Ali with a leather duster and katana does like 80% of the work and Feige "can't figure it out"? Y'all got a direct with Coogler and Jenkins is in the Disney rolodex but you "can't figure it out"? Cmon now.

I'm gonna say the quiet part out loud: the only way you "can't figure out" how to make a Blade movie is white supremacy. Full stop. The narrative writes itself, there are plenty of Black actors and martial artists who'd jump at the chance. It's not rocket surgery.
We all kinda side eye Edmund over the Turkish Delight but I've definitely got some cousins I would sell out for a calzone so I kinda get it.
Things that count as writing include: Dusting the top of the fridge, reorganizing the Tupperware, deep cleaning the litter boxes, dealing with The Hell Closet, alphabetizing the blurays, taking a nap, reading a little bit first, staring at a wall, grinding five levels for the next boss....
The only way I would accept a Clueless sequel is as a 97 minute modern retelling of Sense and Sensibility (or maybe Persuasion) starring Cher's kids with Alicia Silverstone as the Dan Hedaya figure of the movie.

As a Phd student, I used to get so nervous about presenting because of how vicious people are that I used to need medication to calm down. We are so incredibly unnecessarily mean.

How many of us fell in love with history because a movie (or book) sparked our curiosity first? For me, it was Amadeus - it sent me down an 18thC rabbit hole.
