I don't even know what to say. This is real, this is true, so, like, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. This took over 25 years to happen so if there's any lesson here it's either "keep at it, who knows" or "many people are divorced"

MTMTE Books 2026 I need to find a US (and Canadian?) distributor if the six latest MTMTE books (ie Chaos Theory onwards) are to find their way across the Atlantic, as new rules mean I can’t send packages if they weigh more than 2kg. Plus: tariffs and already-high shipping costs
Team MTMTE/Lost Light 2026 (minus Josh and Joana) at @tfnationltd.bsky.social. @markerguru.bsky.social @nickroche.bsky.social @jlawrenceart.bsky.social thank you for everything x
Here you go: MTMTE Notebooks Vol 1 to 6 MTMTE Scriptbooks Vol 1 (Elegant Chaos) and Vol 2 (Everlasting Voices) Generation Mechs Annotated Scripts Series, six vols to date: Chaos Theory Liars, A to D Life After The Big Bang You, Me & Other Revations Trilogy The Spaceship That Bled To Death
Do you have a comprehensive list of all the independent books you've put out over the years in this fashion, through conventions and limited mail order? "Rare" literature like this fascinates me and even if most of them are going to always be unobtainable from here on out, knowing a list would rock.
NEW FOR 2026 At TFNation I’ll be releasing the latest volumes in the Annotated Script Series. Four volumes this year, to make up for the fact that The Generation Mechs Companion has been delayed until 2027 so I can do it justice (it’ll be a huge book, with 1000+ images of zines and other ephemera)
Picked up from the post today: Generation Mechs, @jroberts332.bsky.social 's history of 90s Transformers fandom. I wasn't there, I didn't even speak English yet, I was in deep Finland buying secondhand G1 comics of the Finnish run; but one gotta know one's roots because all stories are arcs.
Was pleased to be able to contribute to this in a small way
AVAILABLE NOW THUNDERCLASH PRESENTS: THE HUNT FOR HYPERDRIVE is our biggest and best book yet! With a 48-page story and 16 pages of bonus content, including art, interviews and even a letters page! Digital copies available RIGHT NOW or you can Pre-order a physical copy to collect at TFN!
I think this might be one of the most incredible, unsettling and symbolic photos of today’s America I’ve ever seen. I can’t stop looking at it. From Reuters, published on the Guardian website.
Very much enjoying everyone’s Generation Mechs set-ups/displays
I’m running out of ways to visually promote Generation Mechs, so here’s me right now working on the *next* book I’m accepting orders for GM until Sunday night. If you email me before then but end up placing an order on Monday or Tuesday, that’s fine. Details in pinned post
If the excerpts are anything to go by, this is going to be an amazing read about an era of Transformers fandom that I had no idea existed 🤩 Super-excited for my copy to arrive!
A good headline/hook from @tfw2005.bsky.social here. Click through to find an extract from Generation Mechs, the new book that tells you *everything* you need to know about Transformers in the 1990s. Order window closes Sunday
Order window closes this Sunday, then that’s that (Sorry for all the hawking, but — as I may have said in the past — whenever I promote the book I get new enquiries, so people are still learning it exists…)
Generation Mechs is *out now* and shipping worldwide. If you’ve contacted me about TF books in the past you should have received an email about how to get Gen Mechs (check your spam if not). Newbies should email mtmte.books@gmail.com for pricing and shipping info

For the curious, here’s the first of two extracts from Generation Mechs, my new book on all things Transfomers (especially fandom) in the 90s. See pinned post for ordering info, but be quick: last orders will be taken at the end of this month medium.com/@jamesrobert...

There’s a relatively high concentration of folks on here who bought Gen Mechs at TFN last year, so: if I was to publish an extract to give people a sense of what it’s about, which chapter/section/topic should I choose?
Your penultimate reminder that Generation Mechs — a detailed, wide-ranging, pop-scholarly account of G1’s rise and fall, and the parallel development of “analogue era” fandom — is available to order for just two more weeks. See pinned tweet for details
25 years ago I published a Transformers novel. 23 years ago it was reviewed in the Harvard Crimson. And zero years ago (i.e. now) you can buy Generation Mechs, about TFs and fan culture www.thecrimson.com/article/2003...

Really shocked to hear about Rob Grant's passing. It's prompted me to dig out @jroberts332.bsky.social 's excellent interviews with Rob and Doug, which we ran in TV Years magazine in 2019.
Please forgive another little push for Generation Mechs: Transformers Fan Culture in the 90s, which is available to order until the end of March. New photos attached. The book doubles as a meticulous account of Transformers in the 20th century, commercially and culturally
Everything you ever wanted to know about 20th century Transformers. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Email mtmte.books@gmail.com to find out how to get a copy
It is a /Tome/ that is wildly enjoyable to read! Weird and unexpected insights, and generally fan culture being what it is is really interesting to see dissected like this
