Just read "Spare Parts for the Mind" by Greg Egan, the second story on this TOC. Really enjoyed it! It's a great balance of tech and humanity. Long enough to sink into.
Table of contents and cover reveal for volume 2 is now up at thinkweirder.com! This will be the best book I've ever released, with stories by Adrian Tchaikovsky, Peter Watts, Isabel J. Kim, Greg Egan, Nancy Kress, Thomas Ha, and others. I keep re-reading the stories, they're all so good.
Just when I thought things were as weird as they could be, turns out they could always get weirder! Again!

Just read this story last night. It's so freaking cool! Love all the imagery and the way you build up the outside world through glimpses. I hope you had a wonderful time at Clarion!
My newest story, "As the Tide Loves the Diver, as the Diver Loves the Tide," is out now in Clarkesworld! It was also one of my application stories to thee Clarion Writing Workshop! @clarkesworldmagazine.com clarkesworldmagazine.com
Imagine being talented and beautiful and rich and famous and still the most noteworthy thing about you is how good a person you are.
My first published story is out! The cats, of course, are unimpressed. Get your own copy of Unidentified Funny Objects, edited by @alexshvartsman.bsky.social and full of many hilarious SFF writers, here: www.kingsgames.com/online-store...
Congratulations 2026 cohort!! You're going to have an amazing time!
As another summer approaches here in sunny San Diego, we're thrilled to announce the 2026 Class of the Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers' Workshop!!! 🚀👽🦄
I am accepting this challenge and raising $1200 for one Minneapolis family to cover their overdue rent today. Venmo me at nkkritzer and I will send the money to that family once it's raised. I believe in us. Cat photo because you know who likes cat photos (everyone, everyone likes cat photos)
tomorrow i would really like to challenge a few folks with larger followings than me to adopt a rent and raise it in one day. my little group chat and my followers have paid like 70 families rents in the past four days. i believe that some of y’all could help us keep one family housed.
My very first published story will be in @alexshvartsman.bsky.social 's Unidentified Funny Objects volume 10! I already freaked out over the table of contents earlier this week, so now you should too: www.kickstarter.com/projects/ufo...

I've only been submitting short stories since 2022 and it was better than, yes! Unfortunately it took me a little while to grow my skills, but by then most windows were so much smaller and more sporadic. It's rough right now while I wait to see how the Asimov's and Analog contracts shake out.
<totters out onto porch> <settles into rocker> <thumps cane a few times> Let's talk about what the process of submitting short fiction used to look like, shall we? And about what it looks like now.

What a wild and wonderful fever dream! How strange to get through an entire Monday without any stories to workshop, or anyone critiquing mine.
Meet our 2025 Clarion Writers’ Workshop graduates! They’re pictured with their instructors, @jedediahberry.com and GennaRose Nethercott, who led the final two weeks. It has been an unforgettable summer, and we’re so proud to call this class Clarion alumni!
I just sent this out. The Jewish people have moral frameworks for this moment. It is a choice not to heed them. Please let us meet this moment, let us see the shattered Temple around us, right now, and our responsibility to it.

The way that I was raised, being Jewish meant believing that every human life was sacred; to save a single human life meant saving all of humanity. That no law or ritual was more important than saving a single human life. It's unfathomable that any Jew can accept what Israel is doing in Gaza.
Just had my heart stomped on by @theferocity.bsky.social 's memoir, How We Fight For Our Lives. It's already a treat to listen to Saeed read poems to us every week on Vibe Check podcast, so I knew his own writing would be beautiful.

I just found out yesterday that this podcast exists, and it's wild to hear people talk about me! Thankfully the hosts said nice things and I enjoyed listening to them recap the full week of games I got to see play out twice. Turns out we have the same taste in great anecdotes.

@johngreensbluesky.bsky.social Thank you for your crash course US world history series! I watched tons of your videos to prepare for Jeopardy! (or at least try not to look silly on national TV). We'll see if it worked during tomorrow's episode...
