Meanwhile, Toronto hasn't held #OpenStreetsTO - their equivalent to NYC's Summer Streets - since 2022. If Toronto were to bring it back, it needs to be every Sunday from May to September. Not just two Sundays a year as what happened in past years. #BikeTO #WalkTO #TOpoli

For 18 year now we have only had three Summer Streets events in Manhattan. People definitely want more. How many more? Watch to find out! @openplans.org @nyc.streetsblog.org www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JU-...

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them. Via @usa.streetsblog.org @nyc.streetsblog.org

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says — Streetsblog USA

Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikes and people in cars and on foot, a new study of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

Here's the latest facepalm from Stephen Holyday; being the lone vote against the development of a maximum temperature bylaw! Those who live in #Etobicoke Centre need to vote @thismomroars.bsky.social in October and send Holyday packing! If you can donate or volunteer, even better. #TOpoli

Holyday asks what about tenants who WANT their homes to be warmer than 26 degrees. Would this bylaw force their landlords to keep units at temps residents don't want? Staff say that's unlikely, and that excess heat is a "health emergency."

Thank you @joshmatlow.bsky.social & @chrismoise.ca for getting this pedestrian streets program motion through council! Look forward to seeing what comes out of this matter, but we still need to ask candidates for public office to support pedestrianization and open streets. #WalkTO #BikeTO #TOpoli

Matlow's motion to create a Pedestrian Streets Program for Toronto CARRIES without debate, 16-6. Report due Q1 2027.

I’m running! Serving as your TDSB Trustee has been an honour. Now, I’m ready to bring this same dedication, transparency and people-centred leadership to City Council. I’m running to move forward rooted in community—from representation to results. Learn more and join the campaign: votedebbieking.ca

Medium shot of Debbie facing the camera. She is smiling and wearing a vibrant professional purple blazer and white v-neck top. A teal banner across her reads: Debbie King For City Council. A second banner at the bottom reads: Community Rooted. From Representation to Results.

It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby—a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist—to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.

This activist is ready to give up! Why? People come together & walk miles to cheer on a ⚽️ game; are passionate for 🏀 series; Hockey 🏒🥅 of course. But. Politics. Do they vote? Do they become educated on what level of government does what?! Will they rise up for ON Place, ON SciCtre & TO Island?

Last month, I finished reading @carterlavin.bsky.social's "If You Want to Win, You've Got to Fight" which is a short but effective advocacy manual for walking, cycling & transit supporters. A full review is now up on my blog. #BikeTO #BikeSky #WalkTO #TTC www.twowheeledpolitics.ca/2026/06/revi...
