Thinking how at the end of the Star Wars trilogy an entire galaxy celebrates the death of the emperor without a finger wagging coda where a sad-eyed long haired scold in bespoke clothing warns that this reduces everyone to the same level as the genocidal tyrant who got tossed into a laser shaft.

The only use for AI is lying. Everything it is proposed to do is just lying by other means— it just the obvious propaganda uses but even the small insignificant things, like summarizing a document you should have read or replying to an email you can’t be bothered to read—it’s all lying.

My neighbor has a band. They were practicing late into the night, so I sent the following text. "Tell your bass player he needs a click track; he's consistently a 32nd note late on the attack." The music stopped entirely shortly thereafter.

Expert on extremism here: In 2025, there were 1798 right-wing extremism referrals to Prevent, the UK counter-extremism programme. This is *double* the amount of Islamic extremism referrals (870). And yet, the government is incapable of seeing far-right extremism as a threat. Why? 1/

I don't know how Keir Starmer can wake up in the morning, see that pogroms have been taking place under his watch, that they are being fuelled by literal illegal activity on social media, and not make it his entire purpose to stop it. We know you're no politician, but are you not a lawyer?

UK folks, let's jump on this AI regulation petition the Society of Authors emailed out! It's an actual parliament one so the government HAS to respond if it reaches the signature threshold. It calls for regulations to make AI developers disclose copyrighted works trained on. Sign & repost!! ❤️

Petition: Protect creators' rights: require AI firms to disclose training data

We ask the Government to introduce a statutory duty requiring AI developers to disclose the copyrighted works used to train generative AI in enough detail for creators to identify use of their work, e...

The remarkable thing here is I've just found it is already an offence to do a nazi salute in public if it is used to cause harassment, alarm, or distress, or incite violence. So why aren't these people being arrested?

I guess my only real problem with AI is that it doesn't work, uses all the water, makes the worst people who ever slime-trailed across this green earth richer, gives monsters cover to crater organizations, destroys lives in both obvious & subtle ways & also isn't even AI. Besides that, I'm for it.

A) you’re not even calling it it’s chosen (not birth) name and B) I used Twitter from when it was 6 months old until Nov 24and now my brain is much better for it. I never used it for ‘clout’. I used it to connect, not agitate. And I don’t care if I never see any of your opinions again quite frankly.

Nobody can actually point to what you're missing on Twitter; they can only lament that the number there are bigger than the numbers here and that they have some sort of conversation that can't be replicated on Bluesky, where the only thing they talk about is how Bluesky and its users suck

I don’t know, it seems clear enough to me. If the Equality Act doesn’t, in fact, guarantee the rights it was intended to, then you announce you are going to amend the Act to do so, rather than publishing convoluted guidance about defective legislation.
