There are real laws making it hard to get kids the therapy and treatment that they need; schools really are making it harder to get teachers to use the right pronoun. This stuff is important to kids who suffer when they do not feel valued as people.
One way to dispel the notion that professors are engaged in a project to indoctrinate young people is to try to get a group of academics to agree on anything. Intentional indoctrination requires at least some degree of cooperation, and that’s almost impossible to achieve.
And now we have regular ass people who genuinely believe you shouldn’t be worried about Ring / Flock / your partner having and tracking your location if you’re not doing anything wrong
s. e. smith@sesmith.lol · 3d agoThe degree to which 9/11 completely normalized our surveillance state is wild—it is sometimes genuinely hard to remember how different the world was before the PATRIOT Act.
I legitimately don't understand what "transgenderism" is supposed to be. Nobody indoctrinated me at 7 years old. Nobody gave me these ideas or feelings. I've had them for as long as I've been cognizant. That's not a belief system, it's something I've lived with from the time I could even think.
The ones I listen to as soon as they drop are Glamorous Trash, @ifbookspod.bsky.social, Diabolical Lies, and Dire Straights.
