Senator @kaine.senate.gov I have voted to elect you several times. I am very disappointed by last night’s vote. Republicans cannot be trusted on anything they promise to give in the future, and a promise to hold a vote is weak anyway.
The original Dem demands were: 1) Permanent ACA subsidies 2) Medicaid funding restored 3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission) They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today. The Senate Democrats!
Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.

Trump is 30 points underwater. Dems swept the special elections. People know the GOP is responsible for the shutdown. So the Dem Senators pulled out their big guns... and shot themselves in the foot.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com · 10mo agoDems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave. It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.

If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Never take seriously those who ridicule low income people for having a smartphone or laptop. “If they’re so poor how did they buy an iPhone???” Because they’re trying to escape poverty, not the 1700s, genius. If you think basic tech access is luxury, survive a month without it.

Over the next few weeks, millions of Americans are going to receive notices that their healthcare costs are set to explode in 2026. Many more will log onto online insurance marketplaces only to find that they’ve been priced out of the coverage they rely on.
I’m tired of watching hardworking folks beg for the basics while billionaires keep cashing in. Being able to put food on your table should never be a luxury. You can’t call yourself pro-life while letting families go hungry. You can’t shout “America First” while putting Americans last.
