My story about the Hasbro in gaming news is that from first-hand experience, the studios they bought had great talent and could definitely make a great game, but they were constantly hampered from above into spending that time adapting to new cost saving measures every deliverable

Say what you will about the state of Bluesky, but the Bloodless Quant versus Treatlerite debate is my optimist view of a healthy full political spectrum after we've moved past giving reactionaries any kind of power in society

Pedestrianized streets in Montreal are something else! All the business patios were full of customers, and tons of people were laughing, chatting, and dancing in the street. Who wouldn't want more of this in their city?

Everyone is so used to products being from either a top 100 global company trying to establish a new market monopoly, or a startup trying to go x1000, that they can't understand that sometimes it's possible for someone to just release something that a few people will buy and get value out of it

BREAKING: Several Xbox studios, including Compulsion, Ninja Theory and Double Fine, are negotiating with Xbox as they try to avoid closure. Some or all could spin off. Lots still in flux as many studios remain unsure about what's happening. Here's the latest: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Since we can now have 10 images per post, let me recommend 10 recent indie games! All from the past 3 years, no big obvious hits. No AI or genocide support either! Names & descriptions on Alt Text.

Mina the Hollower is extremely my thing, and unfortunately a game I will accept no nuance or criticism of. If the game does something a certain way, it's probably because it makes the game better, by definition. Anything I don't derive pleasure from is a personal failure of mine to appreciate art

Me when people share their views, philosophies, life goals: 🥱 Me when a pet sits close to me and starts staring at something invisible to me: "Share them with me, your thoughts, your ambitions, the principles you would follow"

I think about the Kharkanas trilogy way more than it sales should indicate. There's a lot about fanaticism and how you can get caught up in horrible things without even thinking about it. But it's also about how love and compassion drastically shapes the world both for good and ill (1)

My son just posed a lovely question: What piece or pieces of media -- movie, song, book, TV show, article, poem, etc -- has really changed how you think? (How you think about life, about the world, or just how you think.) Would love to hear your answer.
