I've made a bunch of graphic novels. Most recent: CAROUSEL SUMMER (kids) and I HATED YOU IN HIGH SCHOOL (adults). I teach comics & illustration around Vancouver. I spend my spare time sewing. Portfolio can be found here: http://www.kagcomix.com/

Alright time to watch martha moore porter's video where she sews the Vogue x Claude Montana 2592 sewing pattern for the like 10th time because I'm trying to ape the front placket pattern & graft it to another sewing pattern.

I’m on SSDI and I need help covering the cost of new glasses. The frames are on sale for $79, which is amazing, but I can use any help anyone wants to share. If anyone wants to help out my venmo is benwrex. Thank you! #mutualaid

I'm fascinated by romance novel reviews that are like 'I HATE the trope this plot is built on. this is a BAD book." Kinda feels like showing up to an italian restaurant & rating it 1 star because you hate pasta. Ma'am, you knew what was on the menu!!!!

I read Sangu Mandanna's "A Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches" recently & it had such a bonkers twist at the end that I went from "ehn this is kind of formulaic and fine" to "well i need to see what Mandanna does next because this was WILD."

"Sharply detailed artwork captures both the isolated setting and the teens’ mounting panic. A steady barrage of jump scares, visceral action, and escalating tension propels the chilling story" - Publishers Weekly preorder now at your local bookstore or you know, the other place.

if you're trying to get into drawing environments but worried about perspective, my hot take is don't worry about it at all. It's a lot more important that things FEEL in perspective than actually being in perspective, and that usually comes from strong composition, scaling and shapes

yup that's right: I drive a really big truck. I can't stay in my lane when I drive it and I always take up two or more spaces when I park. And sure, it immediately turns any child into a fine mist when I hit them, but I can't see it happen anyway. I just need to feel safe when I drive to the store

book scam spam emails are significantly funnier when they name my graphic novel for adults. "Subject: Kathleen, I Hated You in High School." Okay buddy! I'm sure you're not the only one who did!!

just learned Andrew Lloyd Webber's "I Don't Know How To Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar was initially a flop pop song called "Kansas City" that began "🎵I love Kansas City mornings...🎵" WRITING IS REWRITING kids.

This is the same company that demolished the Little Mountain social housing complex in 2009, with plans to build new social housing on the site, instead leaving it empty and fenced off for over 10 years. What's been built there up to this point still isn't open or ready to live in.

This project by Holborn Group includes proposals for three buildings that would be the tallest in the city and sits on the edge of the downtown eastside. Some of us remember what happened to rents when the Woodward's building went up (they skyrocketed)
