To be clear, the Senate version of KOSA passed today is completely different than the House version that passed earlier this year, making it very unlikely to become law. The Senate knows this yet they are committing to the farce of acting on kids safety.

The image features a vibrant red background with a quotation prominently displayed in white and bold black text. The quote is attributed to Sarah Philips, the Campaign Director for "Fight for the Future." The text discusses the inadequacies of Congress in regulating Big Tech companies and emphasizes the need for meaningful action rather than superficial proposals. Below the quote, there is a rounded photograph of Sarah Philips, who has long, dark hair and is smiling, wearing a black shirt. The design includes playful elements such as a heart icon and a stylized signature underneath the photograph, adding an engaging and impactful look to the overall message about political accountability.

every woman I know who's attracted to men would immediately get naked for, like, Matt Berry and Jack Black. if your personality is good and you're funny, you're probably drowning in it. these chuds just have bad personalities

Guys will listen to male influencer bullshit about needing to have a six pack and manipulate everyone and meanwhile women will go “you know who is the sexiest fucking guy I’ve ever seen?” and post this

The bickering between chambers and the tight timeline is a saving grace. Theres not enough time before August Recess to put tomorrow's content on the senate floor for a full vote, meaning that it will be pushed to September. Worry about Nov-Dec, they'll try to hail Mary it on must pass bills.

What can you do? CALL. WRITE. SCREAM. The bill is up for a vote THIS WEDNESDAY. Call your Senator. Dem. Republican. Whomever. Right now, it's a solid R bill, but they're looking for Dems to take it across the finish line. Let them know how badly it stinks. www.defendonlineprivacy.com/screen/

The Senate Commerce Committee will vote on the SCREEN Act on August 5. ACT NOW to stop it!

Call your senators even if you think you have one that will not listen. Sacrificing everyone’s privacy is an incredibly high cost. Australia had a similar law that is already showing that it doesn’t protect kids. The idea that this protects kids is a Trojan horse for surveillance on the internet

‼️ALERT: KOSA is moving next week to the Senate Commerce Committee for markup! Call your reps today, again tomorrow, and all weekend leaving messages opposing this dangerous censorship bill. www.badinternetbills.com

I think a reason the younger generations were so quick to memeify Charlie Kirk was that we were taught there was nothing we could do to prevent our entire class from being killed by a single gunman. Utterly desensitizing & made the outcry over 1 evil guy getting merc’d look ridiculous by comparison

I think the aftermath of the Kirk shooting really proves just how desensitized ordinary Americans have gotten to low-intensity gun violence, which to be fair is in part his own damn fault. To the right-wing media, though, the fact one of their own could get cut down like this was a genuine trauma.
