im not saying you have to indulge any of the more toxic shit these guys often believe, but i think offering them another explanation for their feelings of alienation without dismissiveness and vitriol is pretty important if you want to win them over

if one side is telling them "your perception is false, things are fine" and the other side is validating their feelings but blaming women, poor people and minorities for them, which side do you think they're gonna go to

I spend a lot of time around sports, fitness, and gaming, and it's pretty obvious that young men of all stripes are not well - a toxic combination of entitlement, status anxiety, and a more-or-less justified belief that they're not set up for success. You don't have to sympathize, but it's real.
