Accessible Design = Good Design! I work(ed) on Dorito games.

I'm seeing direct confirmation that members of the Xbox accessibility team were also impacted today. If you would like to speak about your experience, please send me a message or email. I'll be happy to give you my signal, as well

I want to re-emphasize one part of this Xbox story: Half of the 3,200 cuts are happening today and half are happening in the next 12 months. In other words, even people who survived today's layoffs will have to spend the coming year wondering if they're going to be next.

If anyone is looking to hire a Peabody and BAFTA winning senior writer, I am looking for work. I’ve got six years experience in games. Everything from indie to AAA. I am not married to staying in games. I am hoping to relocate to the Bay Area. I am keeping my ears to the ground.

the worst thing for me is. Imagine you lost a bunch of expert carpenters and you had to learn carpentry from scratch with no teachers, no youtube. That’s what the industry is currently doing. just getting rid of the folks who know the craft, and retaining the folks who know how to parasite

Oh hey. It's me. I'm back. I wanted to talk to all the devs who took the war chest from their popular games (and YouTube careers!) and turned it into a publishing studio to find out what they're doing differently and if its working out for them. Turns out...yeah seems like its going good!

A deeply curious thing about FF9 - and part of its magic - is it had the most international dev team of any FF ever, with development split between Tokyo & Honolulu. Many Westerners worked on the game, especially on its art and CG backgrounds, also greatly influencing the designers back in Japan.
