One thing freelancing has taught me: Freedom only works because of structure. As someone who’s AuDHD, I’ve stopped trying to force myself into someone else’s definition of productivity. Some days I’m at the gym before 7 and start my work day at 8. Some nights my best work happens from 5–11 p.m.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about ADHD is that ppl w/ it lack discipline. For me, it’s almost the opposite 🧠✨ I am incredibly disciplined. I just need the freedom to work when my brain is ready to do deep, focused work. Tonight, I’ll probably work until 4 a.m. Tmrw, I’ll sleep in.

A small PSA 🗣️ for fellow freelancers: If your goal is to offer a service to an author or artist, be upfront about it. Don’t lead by pretending to be interested in their work only to pivot into an unsolicited sales pitch. As creators, we get excited when someone wants to engage w/ our work. 📚
