It’s my birthday. I want to go bookstore hopping (and to Alive Again in Grand Rapids) in the neighboring towns but I busted my ankle last week in Oakland and I’m supposed to rest it.

An older gentleman in all black just walked up and gave us two t-shirts. One is a Bikini Kill shirt and the other is a riot grrrl shirt. Woah! He said Kathleen would want me to have it. ❤️❤️❤️

Since I’m injured in Oakland, I took it easy today and worked on my novel in the hotel room. Mosswood Meltdown was able give me ADA seating so I’m now there in the in the shade with the cool breeze listening to great music.

Wildfires. Parasites. Bacteria. Heat waves. I can see smoke in our skies here in Michigan. And my friend and her family just narrowly and harrowingly escaped the wildfires in Minnesota.
