Green MSP for Edinburgh and Lothian's East 🌱

Today we're bringing a vote to deliver a moratorium on hyperscale data centres in Scotland. The Scottish Parliament will have a simple choice. MSPs can stand with the communities they represent, protect our environment and our resources. Or they can fail to act.

Vote today. Scottish Greens force vote on haling hyperscale data centres.

The 24 proposed hyper-scale data centres in Scotland would use over 1.5 times the country's total peak power use. That would mean higher prices for the rest of us. Tomorrow we're bringing a vote to the Scottish Parliament to urgently stop new applications.

There are still many questions around the new health board make up announced by the Scottish Government. I'll keep working with the Cab Sec and Ministers on what a greener and fairer NHS can look like. Also looking forward to questioning all 3 at this week's Health Committee ✏️

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Family Fund offer grants and support for families with disabled or seriously ill children. They can provide household items, play & digital equipment, and funding for short breaks. It was really great speaking to them at Parliament last week about all this, and the work they have been doing.

🫂 People with learning disabilities, autistic people and neurodivergent people have waited far too long for the systemic change they have been promised. We need to know how the Scottish Government will measure whether it is actually improving. greens.scot/news/greens-...

📝 We need greater transparency from the Scottish Government about what happens next, how it intends to build on what has already been done, and how people with learning disabilities, autistic people and neurodivergent people, will all be involved in shaping the changes that affect them.

The future of Scotland must be decided by the people of Scotland. To make that a reality the power to hold an independence referendum must be devolved to the Scottish Parliament. Democracy isn't about having a vote whenever Andy Burnham decides.

BBC News. PM would consider independence referendum if 'clear consensus' emerges.

The cost of school uniforms shouldn't be a worry for parents in Scotland. The Greens have produced guidance for schools on allowing more flexibility on uniforms so parents don't have to pay extortionate costs for branded uniforms. We've written to all councils asking them to adopt this policy 👇️

Great to chat to @NSPCC on their 'Read, Write, Relationships' campaign this week. Young people in Scotland should be guaranteed relationship education. It's vital that young people should be taught about healthy behaviours to help prevent abuse and to foster positive cultures within our schools 📗
