Good news and bad news for fans of the bus stops on Leven Street The good news: after a lot of people have raised it directly and through councillors, the bus stops will be reinstated and Houston bus 101 will stop there 🚏 The bad news: Lothian Buses are not going to serve these stops 🙅♀️

Hi all, thanks for flagging this up. I went at the weekend to have a look and agree it's not good at the moment. I've emailed transport officers to ask that the cycle lane is instated and to add lane defenders. I'll let you know when I hear back. @edi.bike @spokes.org.uk
👍 #GreyfriarsBobby footway widening 🤔 We trust #cycling safety will be included, or will be very nasty pinchpoint on busy 🚲route .. we have asked @edi.bike @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social @finlaymcf.bsky.social @cllrcmiller.bsky.social @chdot.bsky.social @edfoc.bsky.social @edoldtowncoco.bsky.social
Up close with a #Kestrel! Amazing shot by George Kelsey on the Water of Leith, Edinburgh.📷️👏 Did you know, kestrels - see UV trails to track rodents - will steal prey from barn owls - use cavities or roofs for nests Numbers have halved since 1970, so do look up!
In May, Scotland elected a record number of Green MSPs. We're already getting to work. We've fixed unfair gaps in free childcare, fought back against mega AI data centres, and called for a ban on US military flights in Scotland. Join the movement today: greens.scot/join

To end rough sleeping you need to fund domestic violence shelters, mental health services, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programmes, let people seeking asylum work, and increase welfare spending.
Very happy to have come home from my hols to see that my bollards have been installed on York Place. I’m sorry it’s taken a wee while but hopefully this will now be a problem of the past. If there’s any more issues just give me a shout. @andycoooke.bsky.social
Thoughts on this? @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social @finlaymcf.bsky.social @cllrcmiller.bsky.social @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social @livingstreetsedi.bsky.social @spokes.org.uk
The council is in the early stages of preparing the next local development plan 🏗️🏘️🏢 and there is an open call for ideas which anyone can contribute to just now - please feed in your views here: consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/cityplan...
If Andy Burnham wants to end rough sleeping he will need to change his approach to No Recourse to Public Funds, which enforces destitution, and is the single biggest cause of rough sleeping (in Scotland, anyway). But that would seem at odds with his support for the asylum bill last week.
Right folks, I’m finishing up for a couple of weeks holiday, so hold on to your potholes 🕳️ overflowing bins 🚮 and planning objections 🙅♀️ until I’m back pls thx. See you all again in a few weeks!
This is why I don’t wear a helmet (I don’t even own one). I feel much safer when looking vulnerable.
And look up risk-compensation Those wearing helmets will take slightly more risks than those without. Similarly, drivers take more risks around helmeted cyclists
Worth noting, if your MP hasn't signed it already - that doesn't mean they won't. These are just very early signatories. It's too early to judge who will and will not choose to sign, but not too early to urge them to do so: equalrecognition.eaction.org.uk/rejectthecode

Every party that believes in fair elections should back our call for an urgent investigation into Independent Green Voice and the Electoral Commission’s handling of this disgrace. greens.scot/news/far-rig...

NB if you live in Makerfield prepare to be vox popped to death, if you don't wish to be turned into a meme that follows you round the internet forever then my advice is to give a very long dull answer
Thank you to everyone who voted on Thursday and good luck to this fabulous team of Green MSPs 💚
Your new record-breaking group of 15 Scottish Green MSPs!
An amazing result for Edinburgh and Lothians East! Not only Edinburgh's first constituency win but also the first time we've had 4 MSPs in the region. This is a massive tribute to our remarkable volunteers. A huge thanks to everyone who voted Green- now is the time to join! greens.scot/join
I believe the Real Greens have just been IGV'd out of a second seat in Mid Scotland and Fife. Huge questions for Electoral Commission to answer after two elections of this.
Tomorrow, let's demand better for Edinburgh. Every Green vote will lock out Reform, and build a strong alternative to Labour.
Need support to cast your vote in the Scottish Parliament election? Polling places will have accessibility adjustments including support for blind and partially sighted people. And we've info on our website in different formats, languages and BSL. More info www.edinburgh.gov.uk/electionaccessible
You can vote Green everywhere in Scotland - peach (regional) ballot, look for the Scottish Greens logo. #VoteGreen Sone lucky folk can vote Green on the purple ballot too 🙌 (You all know this, cos you are well-informed Bluesky type folk, but please spread the word!)
