Managing Director, Policy Development Communications Ltd. - https://www.narrowcastmedia.co.uk/policy-development-communications-demo/. Interested in promoting good public policy and preventing catastrophic climate change. Sceptical optimist.

A whole load of farmers where I grew up are absoloutely up in arms about Chris Packham, and other people looking at farming sustainability, suggesting they'll have to change their model due to climate change. I do wonder at what point this year will cut through and make them change their minds

what politics will emerge from this? who can say? the denialists are going to have a hard time. No doubt they will think of something. Could there be a backlash against rewilding? Never have solar farms in fields seemed like a better way of paying the bills

Gutted to hear of Kevin Keegan’s death. One of the greats, who I was privileged to see in his prime at Anfield for Liverpool growing up. Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Our Director and US Principal Economist argue in an essay for @mainstreamlabour.bsky.social that the solution to Britain’s compounding crises is the Productive State — that owns, invests and provides essentials to make life affordable. www.mainstreamlabour.org/updates/new-...

Will Farage, Musk etc be condemning white people in general for the actions of this violent white person, and advocating rage or violence in response? Will the BBC be laundering their 'legitimate concerns' about those white folks?

Alina Burns, 19, of Lynton Road in Bristol, admitted attempting to murder Mohammed Mahmoodi, outside a barber's shop in Bristol. Burns approached Mahmoodi from behind and swung the axe at his neck. He was able to wrestle the weapon away from her before she could strike him again.

Low Traffic Neighbourhoods are helping make London's streets safer and enable more people to walk & cycle. Great to see more being made permanent - with extensive urban drainage systems & planting to help prevent flooding & boost biodiversity.

Reading this discussion on AI and remembering back to the search for the "killer app" for mobile phones probably late in the last century which we've now largely forgotten...

Very interesting @jburnmurdoch.ft.com piece this morning - how much value AI is creating is exactly the right question. The evidence from coders here suggests it’s so far creating a lot of extra output - 290% more files, 30% more software releases - but no extra valuable outputs (app downloads)

I am the son of two police officers so I admit I am hardly unbiased here but I feel like the fact British policing has been hollowed out by massive budget cuts over a decade ought to be a larger part of the discussion than "DEI"

Stephen Lawrence was killed by six men. It took 19 years for two of them to face justice. Four never did. Henry Nowak's killer has been convicted and jailed within six months of his death. The two cases *are not the same*. www.thenewworld.co.uk/james-ball-o...

Our ‘pure cold rage’ should be at Farage and Robinson

The police made a terrible mistake with Henry Nowak. But deliberately stoking racial tensions for personal advantage is despicable

Interesting that the idea of another EU referendum is regularly discussed on broascast media as something that would cause division and thus a bad idea. But plans to deport literally millions of people are discussed as administrative questions.
