Beside the point but I’m laughing at referring to it as a “career low” like a journeyman second baseman’s batting average
CNN: "The president's overall approval rating now stands at just 34%. That matches his career low following the January 6 insurrection."
Just discovered @capitalweather.com has an app, what a revelation
I don't know how you look at everything Trump's been doing to mess with the election and think anything other than that he's trying to rig it. But whether he will succeed is a different matter, as Bob Kuttner reports. prospect.org/2026/07/28/t...

This week's YouGov/Economist poll gives Donald Trump a net approval of -28. Lowest of any YouGov/Economist presidential approval since the poll began in 2009
Interesting thread. I still like the municipal grocery store idea and I don’t think it’s fair to lump this in with “slopulism” like some of the more inane tax cut plans. But still worth pondering the merits of it as a use of scarce government resources
OK, this is a particular lane of slopulism that I’m passionate about, and it’s actually really dumb and bad and doesn’t understand how groceries work at all.
Don’t worry guys, I have it on good authority from liberals that actually no one struggles to afford food in America
🚨NEW: In the 9 months after last year’s reconciliation law enacted unprecedented SNAP cuts, the number of people receiving SNAP fell by more than 4.5 million. Based on available data, we estimate that at least 1.5 million fewer kids are receiving SNAP. www.cbpp.org/research/foo...
Just wanted to check if you still think no one has trouble affording food @surcomplicated.bsky.social? www.nytimes.com/2026/07/20/u...

Claiming "almost no one in America" has trouble affording food is a wild take. In 2024, 13.7% of households were food insecure and 5.4% of households were very food insecure. And this is before Republicans kicked 4 million people off SNAP www.ers.usda.gov/topics/food-...
I find this genre exhausting when there's plenty of stuff ppl are facing personal financial crises over (rent, medicine, even auto insurance) and the Very Online keep making up shit about the one thing almost no one in America has trouble affording: fucking food.
The fact that VP JD Vance and Richard Grenell went to Romania—on behalf of the Trump Administration— to advocate for Andrew and Tristan Tate, who by all accounts, were rapists running a coercive sex ring, then permitted them to come to Florida, should be a crazy, crazy scandal.
Legitimately funny watching people defend Taco Bell. Won’t people think of the poor smol bean Yum! Brands conglomerate 🥺
The idea that China would’ve wanted Biden, not Trump, to be president is laughable, given how thoroughly Trump has kneecapped America’s research and scientific institutions
I think this is PROBABLY right, but I also don’t think it’s entirely coincidental that he’s built a massive loyalist paramilitary force, radically reshaped the actual military, and had federalized troops deployed in the capital for the past year for no intelligible reason.
Please listen to Rick. Trump will lie about the elections. He will attempt to subvert them. It may succeed...on the margins; it's unlikely to do more. That's still terrible! Impeach and remove terrible!! It's costly to the nation. But people are fighting back, and he will likely mostly lose.

Cuccerella easily the second most annoying player left in the tournament (Pickford #1)
Mike Elk simply one of the craziest lunatics to ever do it, I don't recommend boosting anything he writes unless you want to be asked to give him $20 until he threatens to kill you
I am very proud of this piece, mostly because of the number of SA survivors who have reached out about it. started it eight months ago and finished it in a 12-hr all nighter last night fueled by rage at comment sections 🫠 open.substack.com/pub/cohen489...

Look if you think it’s fine for Trump to corruptly get a red card revoked (or “suspended”) bc FIFA is already corrupt, maybe you understand the MAGA mindset better than you think. “All politicians are corrupt so it’s ok for Trump to be corrupt” is a very common maga rationalization
Sincerely enjoying watching people twist themselves into knots to defend Trump and the suspension of the red card.
damn and england doesn't even have a prime minister right now
Thank you Mr President for making my decision tomorrow night easy 🇧🇪🍺🍟🍫
Cardinals and Cubs are straight up playing in Silent Hill, my god
