This all starts with a secret handshake between writers and yard workers, a mutual understanding that if writers don't leave cans behind, and they don't touch the identifying numbers on the cars, then there's largely no harm. Writers will go to meticulous lengths to respect the latter rule.

Blue and white graffiti on the side of a train with the numbers 110798 meticulously left alone and untouchedGraffiti with the freight car identification, CTTX 692054, untouched on the bottom left. The graffiti is black and white on a mostly bare metal car with yellow highlights.Graffiti avoiding the markings TTGX 697986Graffiti avoiding markings on both the inner part of the piece and also going up and around the numbers with the blue highlight color. The markings are FB OX 50 52 84.

Been trying hard to get people to sign up for my monthly zine club. And it’s just over the top how bad social media has gotten. We’re spoiled here. It’s the only spot that isn’t dominated by astroturfed culture war “debate” where it’s 90% bots screaming about trans people and Muslims.

Chronic pain (and illness) patients experience this as a constant stream of “oh no, how awful, have you tried physical therapy/marijuana/ibuprofen”? There are two reasons this sucks. One: of course we have tried these things. Two: the exhaustion of dealing with this keeps us from talking about it.

I hope ppl realize that when someone says "This is the situation" and doesn't ask for advice that A) they're not asking for advice, so don't offer any, but also B) when you offer really basic advice it's fucking insulting because do you think the person involved has never considered anything before?

Another thing people have been doing is mutual aid, buying an ad slot for autistic small businesses, artists or organisations that we are quietly matchmaking and offering the generously donated slot to good fits. This is the most wholesome community and not in a neurotypical “n’aaaaaaw” way.

We are slowly but surely covering the episodes of Autistic People Oversharing sponsorship. If you’d like to make the next season of the show happen, for £50, we will gush about your pet or pets for a whole 1-minute ad segment. Email Advertising at thedailytism dot com for details!

Hey for no particular reason just a reminder that if your hood/"gas mask" doesn't have one way valves in it and no shorter alternative air paths, if you hook a bubbler bottle into it you're more than likely just trapping the CO2 in the tubes and you're gonna kill yourself.

You want air from the bubblers to go into your mask, be TRAPPED by one way valves, and your exhale going out another (reversed) one way valve going out. If you just have a mask that has two open holes and nothing else, you're just pushing your CO2 back into your mask. You're not getting fresh air.

The themes of #iHunt turned the very basic moment in a lot of ttrpg's of 'what do we do with our dead friends cut of the loot' into a tense 30-45 minute chunk of roleplay as one by one the surviving pc's decided to send it to his younger brother, absolutely killer game

Fuck you're welcome to buy MY game! #iHunt is such a huge piece of work for just two people. We put so many pages into that game. And pretty much everyone that follows me would have fun just reading it, not even necessarily playing. It's a game about poverty. But from the poor POV.

Playing with creating "long exposure" images by processing public webcam feeds again, here's the morning mist in Toronto with a median filter removing the traffic. Source video captured from youtu.be/HongS1sx4pY

Looking out over the Gardiner Expressway towards Toronto. The air is thick with morning mist, creating layering as the foliage and city extends into the distance. The expressway itself is barren, the traffic having been removed from the image by some simple signal processing.

said it before on here but one of the bleakest moments of my 2020s was asking abled cishet white guys “when was the last time someone told you ‘no’ about something in a way you had to respect” & they all groused about masking, vaccines, or a flavor of what used to be called ‘political correctness.’

I do think “every rich person went insane during covid because it was the first time they’ve been inconvenienced in decades” felt a little reductive at first but damn if isn’t more and more compelling as the years drag on

but there was a key piece of context missing. and it *completely changed* the meaning of his actions you have to understand why you're doing things. you have to know where the scrub brush comes from.
