i got stuck in traffic the other day and so i wrote in my notes app about why im kinda cynical about all the new fallout stuff that microsoft announced, and then i finally threw it on substack today. read if you want, sue me if its annoying, etc etc kimbeeely.substack.com/p/my-mental-...

My Mental Fallout From the New Fallout

A blogpost announcing a ton of new Fallout games right after mass layoffs is the perfect example of everything that is tiring about gaming right now.

Back in 2024, I tried getting into the games industry and I applied to work at an Xbox studio. I got rejected (my portfolio was buns lol). In the years since, I have watched them skewer their studios so hard that it has forever scared me out of wanting to work in games

There’s no reason to try to find the “good side” of the Xbox layoffs. They’re selling 2 studios to ???, 2 more are going indie, all while facing a dire economy and a lack of funding, and they’re just starting to put Arkane through this process. This isn’t generosity, it’s ducking responsibility

When your girl asking about some wedding ring but you genuinely don’t produce physical media anymore so you just show her your digital marriage certificate

Keir Starmer’s legacy will be how he made the UK worse for every minority and I hope he can retire in peace knowing that he’s done a major portion of the work for Reform. Trans people owe you one Starmer. Without you, we could’ve risked having to wait until Reform before you segregated trans people

"a goofy movie": a humble title. why it's not even necessarily "the" goofy movie. we simply, respectfully offer you this story for your consideration "doug's 1st movie": the hubris of icarus. the unbridled audacity to imply that this is only the 1st chapter of the Doug Cinematic Universe. pathetic

Genuinely nothing is funnier than the DNC 2024 autopsy being a bunch of nothing that definitely used AI, while blaming trans people and avoiding pointing the finger at the establishment for having a boring platform and not acknowledging a genocide

new video where i get even more gay and transgender than usual ahead of trans visibility day ok but actually though this video is me finally asking how the internet shaped my identity and how lgbtqia discourse can have a negative effect on how we view our identities and make us feel inadequate

**NEW VIDEO LINKED BELOW** "Am I Queer Enough?" Growing up, the internet played a huge role in shaping my my trans identity. The internet is great, but there's a lot of toxicity and policing. So, I wanted to unpack that all for myself and pose a question - can we do better for queer people?

went to the store __________ AI Summary ✨ Grammy-nominated R&B singer Jon B. posted that he is going to the stove – perhaps to "cook up" another hot, hot radio single. Frogs and toads, which are the same, can live on the Sun and often choose to.

it ought to be interesting to see who winds up winning the super bowl this year. both the patriots and seahawks made it, so it’s going to be a real “battle of the nfl teams” type of situation

before you take any of the "Trump is pivoting/lamenting/lowering the temperature after the Pretti murder" stories too seriously, absolutely nothing has changed in Minneapolis: "an absolutely brutal day of raids and abductions" says one friend

Hot take (apparently): Being trans and/or queer does not make you an inherently better person than a cishet. It does not make you inherently good, period. Because being a good person is not a thing you are, it’s a thing you have to actively choose to be through your words and actions.

Genuinely like, nobody has suffered more than him. He has had to watch me edit nearly complete videos, just to scrap them within 2 weeks of when I was going to release them. While I doubt I'll ever fully open the archives, I plan to repurpose some of that scrapped writing!

You guys have no idea how many video scripts Kim has written over the past few years that never see the light of day. I've been saying they should just post the goddamn writing and while I don't have much to do with that decision I'm glad to see it!!! I haven't read this yet but its prolly gas!!!

This can’t be stated enough. When you really get down to it and do history focused work, you realize just how much isn’t digitized. There’s times I’d think “oh this must be digitized” but it never is. I was trying to find info on the queer culture of a state, and so much stuff wasn’t digitized

Erin Grievances@erinbartram.bsky.social · 11mo ago

When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.
