VERY important paper! This study detected SARS-CoV-2 in the air of common areas of 4 big US airports. SARS-CoV-2 detected in 98% of samples through the year. Influenza A was found during flu season. That’s why you want to wear an N95 respirator in an airport! And all indoor public spaces all year!

It’s insane that people in Congress are paid over $174K a year in taxpayer dollars whilst making millions of dollars from insider trading whilst getting 18 vacations a year as Americans all over the country struggle to pay for rent, gas and groceries.

US Senators get paid sick leave and healthcare for life Mitch McConnell disappeared for 90 days and never had to worry about getting a paycheque or paying his medical bills Senators should be given exactly what they give their constituents. In Mitch’s case, that’s no healthcare

In NC, churches are used as polling places. My precinct votes at a church, moved from the prior location (also a church) due to a fallen tree. The closest early voting site? Another church. I didn't know churches are exempt from the ADA. Read about how this affects Disability Voting Rights. #ncpol

It's Disability Voting Rights Week! In 2024, for @motherjones.com, I reported on accessibility issues for churches being common polling locations. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

When you have a new obsession (neurosoicy special interest) and infodump about it to the wrong person online and they think you're AI. Thank you for making me even more self conscious about the way I express myself, just what I needed. FFS. Going back to bed for as long as my cat will let me sleep.

If you live in NC, consider early voting in person or voting on election day to avoid having your mail-in absentee ballot thrown out on a technicality like not sealing the inner envelope. If you are immunocompromised or a caregiver and need a mask to vote safely, reach out and I'll help you. #ncpol

NEW: The North Carolina State Board of Elections voted 3-2 along party lines on Friday to push through its latest restrictions that could make it harder for absentee ballots to be counted. The decision was made hours before the ballots were sent out to voters.

I want to vote by mail, but NC requires two witnesses or a notary. I shouldn't have to involve family, a friend, neighbor or coworker in exercising my right to vote, nor have to pay a notary. Now they're changing the rules for envelopes & signatures to make valid ballots not count. #ncpol

Note for North Carolina voters: The GOP board of elections just approved new, restrictive guidelines on mail voters that are likely to lead to counties rejecting more ballots. www.newsobserver.com/news/politic...

I try to clean out my pantry once a year to remove expired food. However, with all the recent reports of food contamination, I'm starting to think my expired food is probably safer than food currently being sold. What's wrong with this picture? 🤷‍♀️
