The “best” thing about genAI (the quotes are doing heavy work here) is that it’s really lowered the bar on getting into hand-made art. Literally anything you make is better than ai. There’s never been a better time to throw away your fear and start learning that craft you’ve always wanted to learn.

🎶John Henry said i feed four little brothers, and my baby sister’s walking on her knees. Did the Lord say that machines outta take the place of living? And what’s a substitute for bread and beans? I ain’t seen it. Do engines get rewarded for their steam? #ai #llm

in my research on cursing (trying to prove my dad wrong) i found that it comes in 3 flavors: * religious * sexual * shit and piss if i'm writing in a not-earth society, there's a lot of shit and piss cursing. same when writing the dogs. the chickens got "mother-clucking" but it was humor anyway

In my considered opinion, so much created slang/cursing comes across as cringe precisely because it doesn't sound like anything anyone would ever have coming out of their mouth, this especially true of adding/changing letters in "fuck"

"KB died on a submarine." No she didn't, she was murdered and dumped in a submarine. "KB died skiing." No, her corpse was strapped to two sticks and thrown down a mountain. "KB was eaten by sharks." No, someone knows how to really dispose of a body.

1776, the movie. We watched it at least twice a year and always on 4th of July. By 5th grade I'd seen most of the landmarks in the city and all of the ones in the movie. (It helps to live right outside Philadelphia.) I couldn't *not* be interested in the Revolution.

I would say that imprinting on Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera at 13 or so had something to do with me becoming a French & Comparative Literature major, yeah. (My honors thesis included reading/analyzing Les Mis the novel as well). I was ALL ABOUT 19c Paris.

Mariners playing their way out of contention, Sounders on a record losing streak, the Storm last in the WNBA, the Reign not bottom but not really in the playoff race... it's an amazing* time for Seattle sports fans * - or it will be when we hunt down the Seahawks fan who wished on that monkey's paw

the sooner people get good with the idea that disability and illness are coming for all of us, the sooner we'll get change. capitalism is disabling. bigotry is disabling. borders are disabling. if you're not disabled, give it a minute. you too will grow old.

You can yell at Philly for booing any time you want but we just cheered for the home plate ump who got hit in the hand and had to have it inspected by the trainer because it was such a nasty hit #phillies #mlb
