It is bad news that the farmers crops etc are failing due to climate change. It is funny that Clarkson is suffering for the same reason.

She/her Lefty Cat lady living in Yorkshire (and also Baldur's Gate). ADHD Late Diagnosis Club. Tories, TERFs, GenAI users and suchlike get blocked on sight. And yes, that includes headers and profile pics: get fucked.
at this point someone usually says "what about the middle class" and I hate to break it to them but the middle class is just a designation constructed to keep the various kinds of mud troll eating each other so that they don't bother the vampires
trying to explain the intricacies of british class politics to an outsider not spawned in the seething swamps of england and boiling it down to: you are born a blood magic vampire or a disgusting mud troll, you can be a rich troll or a poor vampire but you can never switch groups
Anecdata but I asked local farm shop how the farm itself was coping. They’ve had to prioritise watering the autumn/winter veg so there will be anything to harvest. Summer salad crops are tiny. I recommend “Feeding Britain” by Tim Lang to learn more about how insecure food is on this island.
It feels mad how blasé we seem to be about an incessant run of weather that (a) will have killed a lot of older/vulnerable people and (b) will cause havoc with agricultural supply/prices.
Right, drafted up a beginners' one-shot for DnD (not from scratch, I've adapted something bought off DM's guild) which will hopefully do the job for a session I'm running in early September. We have a tavern, drunk goblins, and a lost dog. I'm pretty sure it'll hit the buttons for this group...
Finished sewing the binding on this quilt but unfortunately Beetle is still perfectly comfy so I'm stuck
I would literally pay like 10% of any given product I buy online to have it delivered by Royal Mail
Still remain baffled that there is no option for the consumer to choose their delivery option. E.g being able to pay £1 to have it delivered by Royal Mail / DPD. You just have to go with whichever one the company opts for. Which is, probably, Evri as they’ll deliver it for the least money.
Happy International Cat Day from Maximum Gremloid. ...no wait it's Beetle.
The remixes of Primary School went live a little while ago and there are already just 5 CDs left. Roberta Fidora, Proc Freq, Xqui, Audio Obscura, Jez Thelwell and mintimperial have taken a track each and made it awesome. wormholeworld.bandcamp.com/album/primar...

Spot of animal husbandry to round off the trip. Took a remarkably long time for this bugger to stop running past the gate and attempting to dig through the corners of the iron fencing...
The “top left-hand corner of Wales” - will forever be the land of Ivor the Engine
"You don't have ADHD, you just need to get a job and start taking vitamin D supplements" I have had exactly one proper panic attack in my life and it was after I got off that phonecall. Took me another 5 years to try pursuing a diagnosis again, and I still haven't read her "report". I can't.
A question from Reddit that I'll answer here: "What's the most unhinged thing a doctor has said to you with a straight face?"
Taskmaster Season 19, Matt Baynton is The Best of Men, good Lord what a fucking angel. Amazing.
I'm really good at wildflower identification these days you guys and it is a fucking joy
One of the great joys of my adult life has been realizing that I can just pick up a new skill every so often, take a fun little class in it weekly for a year or two, and simply enjoy meeting people and getting medium proficient and not attempting to become professional in it at all!
The UK NION has shared several campaigns in other countries in the replies to my post. The UK one is here: notinourname.org.uk

Ooh! 4, or increasingly 1?? Who even am I 4 1, or occasionally 2 if I think the kitchen is run by the sort of boys who think "1" should be waving a lit match over it.

Smol Paul and his new sidekick Smolla Paula: the wobbly monochrome partnership in crime we all need right now. Thank you so much for contributing to our fundraiser so we could make this happen -- I can't stop laughing at their little faces!
I recently booked a car viewing via a dealer's website, and didn't even realise I was talking to an AI chatbot. And fair play, it was great! Apart from it booking us in to the wrong department, for the wrong vehicle, and not telling anyone we were coming, which took half a dozen people to sort out.

Today I went to an Agricultural show and saw some massive chickens some tiny ducks, some very yellow sheep, and the cleanest cows I've ever seen in my life.
A lot of things are better now. But. Food in the UK was better about 20 years back, with organic produce on the rise. It's harder to find now because most of us can't afford it. Clothes are so much worse now - the quality of fabric and manufacturing has plummeted. Similarly soft furnishings.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
Okay this is INCREDIBLE, as somebody with a 1000 watt microwave in a country where every single ‘microwave instructions’ assumes 750 or 900
The Microwave Cooking for One site is legit useful. You know that thing that happens when microwave food is half frozen? That’s not inherent to the microwave, it’s because most box microwave instructions are for 1100 watts and your microwave is something else. There’s a conversion chart for that!
God, I love coming to Scotland. I just don't like knowing I have to leave, every time.
