I’ve just remembered the funniest piece of serendipity ever: when at university we borrowed a camcorder and called for a friend, and made as if it were a film noir moccumentary (talking like Edward G Robinson etc).
Perhaps the unlikeliest of comedy sketches to crop up in 2026, but also one of the funniest:

My hot Wimbledon take: no one is playing brilliantly yet. Some excellent matches because top seeds are playing erratically against lesser- often younger- players, meaning better-than-you’d-think fights but chiefly due to inconsistency.

When my dog decides to be a bit woofy in the back garden, I make sure that I go out to tell her in a raised voice to 'be quiet' and to 'remember her training'. She's not had any training, but at least the neighbours think we are trying.
I hope we're going to see many charges for incitement to racial hatred, incitement to violence and incitement to riot, all of which have been happening blatantly and prolifically on social media. Or will two-tier policing in the UK, favouring the right and the far right, prevail yet again?
