"At the Gates of Moria" I did this as part of Cynthia Sheppard's "Illustrating the Emotional Narrative" mentorship. This is the moment in Lord of the Rings where Sam is forced to leave Bill the Pony behind. It's always deeply affected me but I find this scene is rarely remembered.

A digital illustration depicting a scene in Lord of the Rings. Sam and Bill the Pony stand in the center of a ring of characters made up of Gandalf, Legolas, Aragorn, Gimli, and Boromir. Sam clings on to the pony and pleads, eyes wide. Everyone looks distressed or uncomfortable. Further back, two trees with gnarled roots frame a smooth cliff face. Frodo stands between them, facing away. Merry and Pippin sit on a root, looking for food in their bags. The scene is dark and the environment is harsh.

This week I had some time and I finally finished this fanart!! ❤️💪💪💪 I haven’t shared a new illustration in a long time, so this feels great! 💃 It’s Shallan from the Stormlight Archive 🥰 I hope you like her! ❤️❤️❤️ (Painted in Corel Painter)

⚠️PSA ABOUT SCAMMERS There's been an uptick in impersonators who target users with easily swappable handles (i's for l's, o's for 0's, varying repeated letters, etc) They will always 1) block the original artist 2) target users who have replied with interest, either thru QRPs, replies, or DMs (+)

This has never happened to me but if you get this reply please do NOT interact with it but report this account for scam and impersonating because I would NEVER reply like that when it's about comms!!!! I cannot track this account down as I seem to be blocked personally.

Splendid Fairy Wren (_Malurus splendens_) Watercolour & De Mairo genuine lapis lazuli Ultramarine on silk mounted on paper, 88 × 120 mm. The scan does no justice and flattens the subtly varied blues too uniformly. I tried to edit it as well as I could. 1/

Painting of a male Splendid Fairy Wren in near-profile, facing right. A small bird of vivid blue and rounded proportions with slender legs and a long tail.
