Anyway, our relationship with the U.S. should not just be about ‘the national interest’. It should be about human rights, about international law, about morality and ethics.

This is jk Rowling backing a far right group
Rowling looming over a progressive Irish cultural festival with her menacing insinuations & a phalanx of expensive lawyers dashing off legal letters. And all because the organisers don’t want transphobes peddling hate at their event. A nauseating spectacle of spite.
The illegal war in Iran should do a lot more than "concern" Andy Burnham. And if he's not holding back - when is he going to tell Donald Trump that the UK wants nothing to do with this war and to ban the US military from UK soil?
At no point does this fluff article mention that pokemon go (and the other AR apps that Niantic made) have all turned over photos and GPS data for training surveillance and ai systems. Thanks for uncritically printing a press release, very helpful
The next 10 years hold for Pokémon GO promise more mechanics, better gyms, and "multi-generational play." https://bit.ly/4pGNcPy
The continuing claims by the police that all this is the work of a "rogue unit" or a "few bad apples" are yet more lies piled on top of 50 years of lying. The state surveillance, state rape and state cover-ups are institutional and systemic. It's not over. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

No disrespect to drag but I can’t take my tits off at the end of the show, the mortal danger I face is very different to the erasure they face and I’m tired of that being flattened for likes on a microblogging backwater.
I am very very tired of hearing the words “trans women and drag queens”. Drag is an art form not an identity, and if your annoying online gotcha depends on encouraging the conflation of the two by lumping them together then it doesn’t fundamentally fight conservatism but it does fundamentally suck.
When my egg was cracking, I had someone seriously suggest that I 'might just be a drag queen' instead of a trans woman.

She's had another one since that one
They mention the right wing here and tack "trans issues" on at the end, non-specifically. But what kind of trans issues, Guardian? The latest speech suppressing event regarding this in the UK was JK Rowling going to war with amnesty international. Is that what you mean?
I was a carer for both my parents, but I could only get CA for one. I jokingly called myself the government's BOGOF

Because all we get from them is how the ‘debate’ about trans women is being ‘silenced’, whilst excoriating Dr Beth Upton on the front page of every major newspaper for weeks.
Again: what we have here is a confused piece of reporting where the liberals decry the impact of rising fascism, but can't name it properly or draw any conclusions because, frankly, if it were all trans women feeling unsafe, they'd think that was a positive development.

Wes Streeting, protege of Peter Mandelson, who in turn is best friends with Trevor Phillips (and was best man at his first wedding), the same Trevor Phillips who was readmitted to the Labour Party after an investigation into his Islamophobia was quietly shelved. One big club.
So we have male politicians, demanding inclusion based on ‘women discussing their rights’ - not supposing that the other women participating in the festival already have their reasons for not sharing their priorities. Because we all know the members of the ‘sex class’ all think with the one mind.

Wes Streeting: "Its hard to undertake that work of clearing the strait [of Hormuz] & securing commercial shipping while hostilities continue" So why are you helping the US wage its illegal war on Iran?
Streeting wants the IRGC to bomb the UK so they can justify robbing the poor for war
Streeting "I was clear [to Hegseth] that we've not supported offensive action in Iran" We're letting the US use our bases to bomb Iran! If France was allowing another country to use French bases to bomb Britain would we shrug & say oh well or would we see that as an act of war?

I'm so fucking sick of these Daily Mail Nimby Kunts. I don't fucking CARE what you think
I feel like the way of dealing with such behaviour is to look these people right in the eye and say, very gently, "You think your right to park matters more than homes these children?" Then when they reply just repeat it with slightly different emphasis.
When the media decries the high cost of our welfare system, remember that vast chunks of social care is done by family, for poverty pay. This is a crime.

The world’s richest man, at it again. Reminder: “remigration” is far right code for the forced expulsion of ethnic “undesirables” in order to “purify” the nation.
This is the guy who was caping for Graham Platner from the jump and absolutely no one saw that as the biggest red flag ever. Even before the Nazi tattoo, the violence against women, or his open racism, just having Ryan in your corner should have been all anyone needed to know about the guy
Ryan Grim wants Dr. Fauci prosecuted because we didn't know everything about COVID-19 a month after it was discovered.
Bringing in 45 year old Ryan Gosling to play a C-list Marvel hero doesn't help overcome the overwhelming past-its-sell-by date vibe the entire enterprise and superhero genre has at this point.
