NEWS: Bette Midler just released a new music video for her remake of "All You Fascists Bound to Lose"—featuring Barbara Hershey, other celebrities, and crowds from the No Kings protests in a joyful, powerful show of resistance. You have to see this.
Team USA Curler Rich Ruohonen: "We'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention what's going on in Minnesota...I am a lawyer, as you know, and we have a constitution... and what's happening in Minnesota is wrong. There's no shades of gray. It's clear."
When I started @mplscargobikelibrary.com last year I knew our bikes could be used to help our community. I had NO idea they'd be helping neighbors in such dire circumstances. ICE out, bikes in.
"We're struck by the consistent overlap between folks organizing bike buses, neighborhood rides, and bike rodeos - and those who organize in times of need." Read mutual aid stories from MN, DC, NJ and MA: bunchbike.com/blogs/the-bu... #cargobike #bunchfam #mutualaid
My first attempt at American Chop Suey. I have a friend from my time at Courage Center in Minneapolis who loved it when this dish was offered at the cafeteria. Sandi, I hope you are still getting your dose of this. It is indeed a tasty dish!
Every day Mamdani comes out and is like "hey guys, I turned off the orphan-crushing machine. Literally just had to flip a switch. Took less than 5 minutes." After decades of dem leadership pissing and moaning and fundraising about how complex an issue it is and how difficult the process is etc
I live on the ride route and I cannot emphasize enough that the ride started passing my house 50 minutes ago and is 👏🏻 still 👏🏻 going 👏🏻. ICE OUT.
The group bike ride for Alex Pretti is about to depart in Minneapolis, stopping at his memorial, then Renee Good’s, and finishing at the VFW. If you can join, hop on anywhere. It’s a warm 17° & sunny! I’ve never seen this many cyclists for a group ride. ⚡️✊🏽⚡️🚲⚡️✊🏽⚡️ #RIPPretti
As one local Lutheran Pastor, speaking of the mutual aid efforts behind frontline resistance to federal occupation put it—“Armies of Lutheran grandmothers are coordinating complex systems of financial support, clothing drives, and meal preparation.” www.minnpost.com/metro/2026/0...
Mothers of resistance: PTA members organize Minneapolis relief efforts
Fox called them ‘wine moms.’ But for longtime volunteers, rides to school for frightened kids was a natural first step. Then came food, diapers, rent.

President Trump’s DOJ has decided there will be no civil rights investigation of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, and instead two units of DHS will investigate their officers and the man they killed, according to three people briefed on the steps and internal records reviewed by MS NOW.
My local newspaper tells us how to identify the various chemicals that are being used by the feds on the streets of the Twin Cities. In particular it tells how to ID the HC tear gas, the most toxic, by the look of its fire and smoke. Good for the StarTrib and its continuing no-fear coverage.
Here's how to identify some crowd control munitions, canisters of which federal agents have left on the ground after deploying them against people in Minnesota. bit.ly/3YWp1jE Graphic by Mark Boswell/The Minnesota Star Tribune
I solemnly swear that as our coalition of allies grows I will be welcoming and warm and not a smug little troll just shouting “I told you so” and “Look who finally showed up to the party” and just generally be chill.
“We are starting to build a huge ICE OUT sign on Lake Nokomis [in Mpls.] 100 foot letters for MSP flights to see. By day snow letters, by night we’ll light w/ candles in white paper bags Send this widely. Tonight will get it outlined. Tomorrow night we’ll light it up and keep it going all week.“
If you'd like to help folks in Minnesota being terrorized and you'd also like to tell ICE to fuck off in a song, then I have just the thing for you. $3k so far and I'd love to see it get to 5! jeremymessersmith.bandcamp.com/album/fuck-t...

Broken again by this post from the cute brunch spot a block from where ICE killed Alex "We have a medic and eye wash stations on site"
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.
Go out into the world in peace. Have courage. Hold onto what is good. Return no one evil for evil.
Protesters in Los Angeles projected an anti-ICE video onto the Twin Towers, an ICE-linked detention facility where the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department actively collaborates with ICE for deportation screenings.
Props to Klobuchar for hitting the streets with the marchers. I love the homemade sign, too.
Today we marched together in below zero weather. Thanks to the thousands and thousands of Minnesotans who turned out to stand up and speak out. ICE OUT.
On a downtown street in Minneapolis, as people stream out from the massive march, Mary Tyler Moore says “fuck ice.”
Kayla Harren is an incredibly talented illustrator of children’s books. This one hit me harder than any of her other work. 💔
The general strike today, and the Whipple building blockade, and the march downtown - all amazing and incredible turnouts, but nothing is hitting me so hard as the masses of clergy who showed up to the airport to protest this morning. And I'm not even religious.

Before ICE, I never realized how much of "keeping the public safe" involved wrecking cars.
ICE just crashed a car at my intersection (due to their own shitty driving) and immediately got out and tear gassed observers.
My friends sent me this photo, taken from the Minneapolis skyways. Huge turnout for ICE Out of Minnesota March, on their way to more rallying in the Target Center. It is -8 degrees out there!
The best accessorie to take on an Ice Out protest. Epik High is a South Korean hip-hop trio that created this wonderful lightstick to its fans for concert waving. Yes, the hand lights up! Easily found for purchase online. And check out Epik High's music. Often jazzy, always melodic.
This 1965 photo of a football game between Mount Herman and Deerfield Academies won awards as best sports photo of its year, and it was referenced last Sunday's sermon. The point being, in a question to the elite in the stands: Do you see and care about the fire or are you just here for the game?
