Mutuals do not necessarily need to be reflections of each other in every way, but just because I do not unfollow you or block you, I can’t/won’t cosign images with no alt text (necessary for so many people for visual disability & not difficult to add quickly) or images obv created by ai image apps.

We need to stop dedicating a disproportionate amount of public space on city streets to cars. I rarely see drivers driving on many streets, but the tax payer subsidized “free” car parking & dangerous car driving greatly hampers traffic flow & safety. Most people drive on the highway anyway.

We need to stop dedicating a disproportionate amount of public space on busy streets like lyndale and Hennepin to new bike lanes. Living near the re-done Hennepin, I rarely see bikes use the new bike lanes, but they greatly hamper both traffic flow and parking. Most people bike near the lake anyway.

That’s my family in the other bike and they came home ELATED by the surprise bike ride with friends. You don’t get that in a car, man.

This is what I want to remember about this horrific weekend. Though scared, with an assassin on the loose, despite warnings from authorities that we shouldn’t go…. MN showed up. Both in St Paul and at smaller gatherings around the state. These are my heroes. We have each other.

Be gentle with yourselves today, friends. Focus on how Melissa and Mark Hortman lived, not how they died. And keep honoring their memories in the small, good things you do every day. We’ll keep taking care of each other.
