Picked up Axiom Verge in a recent sale, and I've been transfixed by it this weekend. I dig some of the subversions it makes to the Metroidvania genre and the ways it handles upgrades and movement, but I think I could do without about 70% of the different guns you find. Most feel really superfluous.
